New for 2024 as part of their Quiet Rebels series, Nc’nean Organic Quiet Rebels Amy is in tribute to the distillery’s Head of Sustainability, Amy Stammers. With such an eco-conscious team as Nc’nean, it’s easy to understand why blender Matt Hastings chose Amy as the figurehead to partner with on this release.

Bottled at 48.5% abv, this non-chill filtered and natural colour liquid was finished in ex-Maury casks from a small organic vineyard in France, a farm which follows the biodynamic principles such as following the lunar calendar. These casks were then blended with Nc’nean house style STR red wine and ex-Bourbon casks to create this moreish release. Expect notes of brown butter muffins, citrus, toasted nuts, and savoury flavours.

Created by Wemyss Malts, Nectar Grove is crafted with Highland single malts, married together and finished in Madeira wine casks. Bottled at a batch strength of 54% abv, this limited edition is presented free from chill filtration with just 8,100 bottles produced.

The nose is floral with fruity notes alongside milk chocolate, honeyed granola and Pastal de Nata tarts. The palate brings juicy fruit notes with sweet nectarine, peach and candied orange peel. The finish has lingering oak spice and pastry notes with a touch of hazelnut spread.

An expertly blended malt, this peated expression was married together with a finish in Rioja wine casks. The Smoke Symphony is a uniquely flavoured whisky, combining bold flavours of chilli, with smoky peat and an underlying berry tartness. Bottled at 46% abv., free from chill filtration and at natural colour. This part of an impressive new range from Loch Lomond whisky.

Expect waves of smoke on the nose, with hints of raspberry, leading to a palate full of earthy peat, red chilli spice, and stewed plums and red grape. The finish is reminiscent of chilli jam, with a wisp of smoke on the end.

Campbeltown Connection 10 Year Old is a limited-edition blended malt from North Star Spirits, crafted from single malts of Springbank, Glen Scotia, and other Campbeltown distilleries. Selected by founder Ian Croucher, the youngest spirit in the blend was distilled in 2015 and matured in a combination of first-fill and refill barrels. Bottled in June 2025 at 50.7% abv, with natural colour and no chill filtration, it captures the robust character of the region.

On the nose, expect caramelised grapefruits and fresh vanilla pods, leading to a salty, waxy palate with a gentle thread of peat for extra depth. A warm citrus-orange finish, touched with a trace of paraffin, rounds off this distinctive release of just 1,554 bottles.

Like the tiniest of seeds, Oban Distillery is one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries whose illustrious whiskies thrive with imposing character. This 10-year-old expression is matured in refill casks, before being selectively finished in newly charred American Oak barrels, freshly seasoned with Oloroso sherry, before being bottled at 58% abv.

Immediate sea air aromas of crystal salt and seaweed on the nose, followed by notes of oak, vanilla and lemon. The palate is appealingly thick, fruity and creamy-smooth, with notes of citrus, sea-salt and a whisper of gently peppery, oaky spice, before a medium-length spicy finish.

The Oban Distillery team have crafted Oban Little Bay by selecting small batches of their finest single malt whiskies, combining them in their smallest casks. This unique process – which increases the expose of the liquid to the cask wood – combined with the expert nose and palate of Malt Master Dr. Matthew Crow, delivers a classic rich, smooth Oban expression. This whisky is rich and fruity in typical Oban style, but with a more pronounced maritime and citrus character than the distillery’s signature 14 Year Old whisky.

Charles Maclean’s official tasting notes: Burnished copper in colour. A faintly oily nose, with brine, dried seaweed, sanded teak, and trace of fresh apples. At full strength the texture is oily and full-bodied; sweet overall, slightly salty, spicy across the tongue and in the finish; well-balanced, with lingering warmth and an aftertaste of almond cake.
