Mossburn No.38 is a 16-year-old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, carefully selected by the master blender from ageing casks of exceptional character. Bottled at cask strength (52.4% ABV) with no chill filtration or added colouring, it offers a pure and unadulterated expression of the whisky’s depth and complexity. Finished in Marsala wine casks, this release carries the hallmark balance Mossburn is known for, drawn from a traceable and distinctive vintage. It forms part of the Vintage Casks range; limited, hand-crafted single malts showcasing the finest of Mossburn’s maturing stocks.

The nose reveals nutty and floral notes alongside dried apricots, orange marmalade, and gentle spice, while the palate delivers soft oak warmth and lingering red fruits, with a final touch of stewed summer berries and caramel. 

Mossburn No.36 is a 12-year-old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, selected from carefully matured casks and bottled at cask strength (57.1% ABV) to preserve its full character and integrity. Finished in Sauternes wine casks, this non chill-filtered, naturally coloured whisky forms part of Mossburn’s Vintage Casks range, crafted to highlight provenance, traceability, and exceptional quality.

The nose offers bright aromas of orange peel, vanilla, oak spice, and Highland fudge, layered with hints of cedar, hazelnut, and beeswax. On the palate, it delivers a light and elegant body with subtle floral notes, touches of peach, and a flicker of white pepper. A gently warming finish lingers with sherbet brightness and a whisper of dry spice.

Part of the Vintage Casks series Mossburn, this 14-year-old Highland single malt was distilled at Macduff distillery in 2007. Finished in Ruby Port hogsheads, this expression was bottled in November 2021 at a strength of 56.4% abv. It is free of chill filtration and artificial colouring.

The nose is sweet and floral with rich milk chocolate and violets. The palate is full of stone fruits and cherries before leading into the pleasantly sweet finish.

Distilled at Ardmore in 2011, this Highland single malt has been matured for eleven years and enjoyed a finish in an Oloroso sherry cask. It has been independently bottled by Murray McDavid. It has been bottled at 56.7% abv and is free from both chill filtration and artificial colouring.

On the nose, there are flavours of spiced fruit, toasted malt loaf, and aromatic smoke. The palate brings butterscotch, Christmas cake, and toasted oak before leading into the long finish with notes of gentle toffee, peat, and baking spices appearing at the close.

A The Whisky Shop exclusive, bottled by Murray McDavid, this distinctive Caol Ila expression has been finished in a Tokaji wine cask. Aged for a total of 12 years, the limited edition whisky is one of only 321 bottles, and was bottled at bold 54.4% abv.

Nc’nean distillery, located on the West Highland Peninsula, runs two different spirit runs each year, one for whisky set to be released at a younger age, and one set to be released after ten plus years. The spirit matured for Huntress Orchard Cobbler comes from the distillation in the week after this spirit recipe is switched over – a time where cut points are changed and unusually high fruity compounds flood into the spirit. So fruity, that the whisky is named after one of the team’s favourite desserts. Bottled at 48.5% abv, just 6153 bottles have been produced.

Warming and homely flavours of Cherry Bakewell, apricot marmalade, vanilla custard and peppermint tea.

It’s easy to see that the designers of this bottle have excelled themselves, but it’s even better to hear the distillery have to. Nc’nean are an independent, organic whisky distillery that exist to experiment. This expression has matured in specially treated red wine and American whiskey barrels. Using organic Scottish barley, this small batch bottle makes a big impression. Arriving at 46% abv, this is free from chill filtration and has a natural colour. It is made from a recycled glass bottle, and the distillery is known for recycling 99.97% of their waste. This particular expression is presented in a gorgeous gift tube that is also fully recyclable. All very impressive to us.

Aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and a kick of pepper arrive on the nose. The palate is full of peach, pineapple, lemongrass, malted barley, all in a creamy, smooth character. The finish is dry, with peppery ginger and spicy, earthy notes. A fruity whisky, with a bit of depth behind it.
