A 15 Year Old Blended Malt from Islay, this release from Thompson Bros is bound to delight! Matured for 2 of its 15 years in a Malaga Cask, the final result is bottled at 57.1% abv, with a rich, dark character full of fire.

One of just 342 bottles available worldwide, the nose is full of that wonderfully familiar Islay character – tar, fishing ropes, and heavy smoke – with a few exciting twists of sesame seed and miso syrup. The palate is richly spiced with date and ginger puree, salty dark soy sauce, and the tannic bitterness of black tea. On the finish, the spice return with force in notes of cloves and mace, continuing to linger after the last swallow.

The fifth and final release in the Tobermory Hebridean Series, Expression 5 The Waymarker, is a limited-edition 27-year-old single malt whisky. Aged initially for 15 years in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks and then matured for another 12 years in Gonzales Byass Oloroso Sherry casks, this exquisite whisky captures the essence of Tobermory’s unique island character. The flavours are rich with marmalade, cinnamon spice, and honey-roasted nuts, with a finish of mandarins, and nutmeg. 

A sweet and sumptuous release from Tomatin. This 14-year-old expression spent its maturation period in bourbon barrels before being transferred into tawny port casks to finish before being bottled at 46% abv. The result is a delectable and surprisingly gentle dram.

There are rich aromas of toffee, sweet oak, and honey before moving into a palate that is full of candied almonds and red berries. The fruity notes continue into the smooth finish.

A sweet and refreshing single malt. Matured ex-bourbon oak, this Highland expression is was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 at 43% abv as part of Gordon & MacPhail’s Discovery range.

In a fond farewell to Allt Gleann, Torabhaig distillery on the Isle of Skye have released a batch strength version of their popular expression. Bottled at a robust 61.1% abv, free from chill filtration and with a residual phenols level of 22.8ppm.

Expect notes of bonfire smoke, salinity, maltiness and sweet, vanilla-led oak spice.
