Matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in tawny port pipes, this incredible Highland single malt was distilled on 8th May 1973. Bottled aged 46 years old at a strength of 42.5% abv, only 55 bottles have been produced globally. 

The nose has over-ripe bananas, toasted bread, citrus fruit and plum, giving way to raisin, bitter chocolate, fig and spice. The palate is rich with flavours of spiced pear, coffee, caramelised orange and liquorice, followed by black cherries and treacle with a finish of plum, demerara sugar and chocolate.

Fettercairn “The Journey” is an exclusive bottling for The Whisky Shop. A rare and thoughtful single malt crafted in partnership with our own W Club members, this is something truly special. Ultimately selecting two standout ex-bourbon casks – Cask No. 2066 and 2067, both filled in December 2018 and later finished in dark stout barrels for around a year – the final release was bottled at 47.9% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration.

Limited to just 528 bottles, and available exclusively through The Whisky Shop, the stout finish adds richness and warmth while preserving Fettercairn’s signature tropical fruit character.

The nose is bursting with tropical fruits balanced by fresh green apple, supported by citrus notes, herbaceous malt and a touch of hops, creating a lively and welcoming aroma. The palate delivers toasted pineapple and green mango, layered with sweet biscuit, hints of chocolate, café au lait and soft patisserie spice, before developing into a gentle lift of white pepper. The finish lingers with candied fruit, burnt sugar and a light nuttiness, rounding off the experience with warmth and charm.

This impressive release from Fettercairn expertly marries together whisky that has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels, French red wine barriques, and rum barrels. These casks have created an expression full of sweet, tropical flavours, typical of Fettercairn’s exceptional produce.

The expression has been bottled at 50.6% abv and is free from chill filtration. An inviting amber gold in colour, this whisky has notes of sweet cocoa and juicy mango on the nose. Fruity on the palate, flavours of grape, passionfruit, and heather honey burst on the tongue before melting into a fabulously sweet and satisfying finish.

The fourth release in The Collection from the stand-out Highland distillery, Fettercairn. Hailing from Warehouse 2, the expression matured in a combination of first and second fill bourbon barrels and Hungarian wine casks. Bottled at 48.8% abv, this single malt is bursting with the classic tropical flavours Fettercairn is renowned for.

The nose has stewed pears, rich vanilla, and cracked black pepper. Citrus peel, toasted nuts, and refreshing notes of passionfruit and melon appear on the palate before leading into the sweet and satisfying finish.

From The First Editions, this Ardmore single cask expression has been matured in a refill hogshead for 13 years, before being bottled at 46% abv. Only 129 bottles were filled. Free from chill filtration.

Expect a sweet and malty nose, with notes of caramel, vanilla, lemon sherbet and a faint hint of wood smoke. The palate is gristy with caramel apple, before a long, sweet and smoky finish. 

The First Editions range offers single cask whiskies bottled at natural strength, with no colouring and no chill filtration. True to its name, each cask is chosen for its individuality, character and collectability, much like a rare book. Label colours indicate the whisky’s region of origin, while every bottle is individually numbered and presented in its own gift tube. A First Editions release is not only a fine dram but also a worthy addition to any whisky collection.

First Editions Ardmore 2013 11 Year Old HL21824 is an Highland dram, bottled in 2025 at 46% abv. One of only 146 bottles produced from a Red Wine Barrel, you’ll find a strong yet decadent nose of peat smoke, salted caramel and candied almonds, alongside a palate of citrus juice and dry wood. The finish brings it all together with a long, dry final note. 

Bottled by Hunter Laing & Co. as a part of their First Editions range, this Benrinnes expression has been matured in a single bourbon barrel for 13 years. The Speyside whisky is presented at 46% abv, free from chill filtration and at natural colour. One of only 137 bottles.

Floral bouquet, marzipan and milk chocolate on the nose, before a sweet palate of apples, berries and spice. The finish is long, with lingering pepper and fruit.

Released as part of Hunter Laing & Co.’s First Editions series, this Islay expression was distilled in 2010 at Caol Ila distillery. It spent eleven years maturing in a bourbon barrel before being bottled in 2022 at 46% abv. Just 326 bottles have been filled, all of which are free from artificial colouring and chill filtration.

The nose is smoky and fresh with candied lemon peel and sea salt. The palate is leathery, complemented by notes of citrus and malt loaf before leading into the lingering, honeyed, and smoky finish.

This Speyside malt from Craigellachie distillery is limited to just 360 bottles. This expression has spent twelve years maturing in a single refill hogshead cask before being bottled at 46% abv.

Aromas of caramel and sweet red fruits meet the nose. This fruitiness continues in the palate, complemented but subtle hints of smoke. The finish is long, satisfying, and wonderfully oaky.

This Speyside single malt was distilled in 2010 at Dailuaine distillery. After twelve years in a bourbon barrel, this expression was bottled in 2022 by family-run independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. as part of the First Editions series. Only 319 bottles have been filled at a preferred strength of 46% abv.

Aromas of honey, rich toffee, and strawberries fill the nose. The palate is vibrant and fruity with gentle malty notes. The finish is long and oaky.
