Fettercairn 46 Year Old
$7,995.00 Availability: In StockMatured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in tawny port pipes, this incredible Highland single malt was distilled on 8th May 1973. Bottled aged 46 years old at a strength of 42.5% abv, only 55 bottles have been produced globally.
The nose has over-ripe bananas, toasted bread, citrus fruit and plum, giving way to raisin, bitter chocolate, fig and spice. The palate is rich with flavours of spiced pear, coffee, caramelised orange and liquorice, followed by black cherries and treacle with a finish of plum, demerara sugar and chocolate.

A rare and thoughtful single malt crafted in partnership with our own W Club members, this is something truly special. Ultimately selecting two standout ex-bourbon casks – Cask No. 2066 and 2067, both filled in December 2018 and later finished in dark stout barrels for around a year – the final release was bottled at 47.9% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration.
Limited to just 528 bottles, and available exclusively through The Whisky Shop, the stout finish adds richness and warmth while preserving Fettercairn’s signature tropical fruit character.
The nose is bursting with tropical fruits balanced by fresh green apple, supported by citrus notes, herbaceous malt and a touch of hops, creating a lively and welcoming aroma. The palate delivers toasted pineapple and green mango, layered with sweet biscuit, hints of chocolate, café au lait and soft patisserie spice, before developing into a gentle lift of white pepper. One of two first releases in the three-part series, The Fettercairn Vanguard Collectible has undergone a long journey of maturation, which builds upon Fettercairn’s exploration of Scottish Oak. The liquid has slumbered in a combination of first fill ex-bourbon casks and in bespoke Scottish hybrid casks, before being transferred to hybrid casks made from American Oak staves and heavily toasted Scottish Oak heads. Finally it was bottled at 46.3% abv, non-chill filtered and at natural colour.
On the nose, expect warm floral honey, ripe pineapple, Alphonso mangos, subtle fresh raspberries and soft pâtisserie spices. The palate contains fresh and exotic tropical fruit notes including grilled pineapple, mangos and dried apricots.
