The colour of Pinot Grigio white wine, from refill American oak casks. A youthful nose, with creamy rice pudding as a top note, acidic tropical fruitiness in the middle (lychees, mangosteins, even a fugitive trace of pineapple), and the most subtle hint of smoke at the back. The taste follows this: sweet, acidic, slightly smoky. More estery with water (warm vinyl), with a gentle mouthfeel and a sweetly acidic taste.

This Speyside single malt was distilled at Craigellachie distillery where it enjoyed an initial maturation in oak casks. The expression was then finished in Bas-Armagnac casks, making this a particularly unique dram. The expression was bottled at 46% abv.

The nose has tobacco, candied orange zest, and peach. The palate brings rich shortbread, bonfire smoke, and aromatic oak. The finish is woody and spicy with notes of honey appearing at the close.

An exciting first look at the outputs from Gordon & MacPhail’s new Highland distillery, The Cairn CRN57° 18 Year Old is a beautifully blended malt that truly captures the spirit of the Cairngorms.

Bottled at 43% abv, the nose offers crisp apples and juicy blueberries alongside candied citrus peel, while raisins and toasted almonds mingle with a drizzle of brown sugar. The palate is equally delightful, with notes of creamy banana, smooth milk chocolate and roasted hazelnut, accented by sweet strawberries and cream and a subtle hint of spice. The finish is clean and refreshing, with fresh lime, a sprig of mint and a gentle peppery warmth lingering on the tongue.

Another excellent offering to the CRN57° range from The Cairn Distillery, Gordon and MacPhail’s newly minted whisky makers, the CRN57° 25 Year Old Blended Malt offers a compelling glimpse into the distillery’s house style.

Bottled at 43% ABV, the whisky opens on the nose with indulgent aromas of rum-soaked raisins and soft brown sugar, followed by ripe figs, maple syrup and a subtle hint of liquorice. On the palate, bright notes of raspberry and pistachio nut come through, balanced by crisp apple and a lift of tangy orange peel that keeps the sweetness in check. The finish is smooth and gently drying, with lingering milk chocolate and well-integrated oak bringing things to a satisfying close.

So we are delighted to be bringing our customers an exclusive bottling! Presenting Cut Your Wolf Loose De (Clyne) lish, a 15 Year Old Highland Single Malt distilled in 2010, matured in a refill Hogshead, and bottled at 56.4% abv.

‘Cut Your Wolf Loose’ Deanston 2012, 12 Year Old Moscatel Port Pipe Edition #16 is a confidently off-beat single malt, offering something refreshingly different. Distilled in 2012 and matured for its full 12 years in a rare Moscatel port pipe this limited release has been bottled at a bold 55.8% ABV with only 550 bottles available.

The nose presents birthday-cake sweetness and bright bready notes lifted by ginger and a twist of orange peel. The palate follows with a comforting richness, offering baking spices, candied ginger and a honeyed waxiness. The Moscatel influence is present but subtle, adding intrigue without dominating the dram. The finish is medium to long, neatly balancing sweet oak with a polite peppery kick.

This UK exclusive Daftmill 2007 has been aged for 15 years, and bottled at ‘Fife Strength’ of 56.3% abv. The Lowland expression was matured in a cask filled in 2007, and bottled in 2023.

On the nose, expect rich herbal notes alongside biscuity sweetness, grassy olive oil and chamois leather, before a grassy and waxy palate with flavours of old-school shilling ales, barley extract and mineral oils. Rich wood spice, herbs, toffee apple and sweet beer flavours lead to a good length finish full of pine sap, bay leaf and olive oil.

This 2008-distilled dram was made at Daftmill, a farm distillery owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, producing whisky seasonally during the farm’s quiet periods. This expression has been created using a combination of 23 first-fill bourbon barrels which have been laid down to mature for over a decade before being bottled at 46% abv. One of only 6,000 produced.

Expect aromas of crème brulee, tinned peaches, dried cocoa powder and a delicate grassy note. Fresh fruit explodes on the palate with green apples, pears and some melon, developing into soft peach and a slight tropical note. The oak appears again on the finish, offering vanilla pods, clove, cinnamon and some melted honey.
