A must-have for rum lovers from the ten-time consecutive winner of the ISC’s ‘Rum Producer of the Year’, this Foursquare 16 Year Old Exceptional Cask Selection XXIX Mandamus is the fresh new addition to their award-winning Exceptional Cask Selection series!

A limited-edition release, this superb liquid is a masterful Single Blended Rum, crafted from both pot and column still distillates and aged for 16 years in a dual maturation of 10 years in ex-Bourbon casks followed by 6 years in ex-Tawny Port casks.

Bottled at a hefty 57% abv, Mandamus is non-chill filtered and free from sweeteners or colourings. On the nose, there’s a rich rush of blackberries, ripe pineapple, tart plum and cherries. Lots of sultanas, vanilla caramel, along with hints of ginger, hazel nuts, walnuts and blackcurrant vines. The palate continues these juicy fruit influences, with ripe black cherries, raspberries and Victoria plums. More sultanas and a hint of zesty orange. Finally the close brings notes of bitter chocolate and black tea, mixed with white pepper and a hint of chilli pepper warmth in the long lasting, toasty, gently smokey, oaky grip.

A single cask from Foursquare Distillery, this is a terrific find. Hailing all the way from Barbados, this is a limited edition, cask strength rum. Distilled in November 2005, this was bottled in July 2019. This is a release of only 267 bottles and is bottled at 63.3% abv. This rum is free from chill filtration and has a natural colour.

Expect rich, malty notes on the nose, with vanilla, Christmas cake, and buttery molasses. The palate is one of treacle, toasted oak, and rich, spiced fruit. The finish is long, sweet, and gives a little twist of campfire smoke. A lingering, delightful dram.

From Foursquare distillery in Barbados, this run has been made by combining pot distilled and column distilled rum, which has been matured in American white oak bourbon casks for 12 years. Presented at a robust 60% abv.

Lemon zest, caramel, and ginger on the nose, before a palate of treacle tart, vanilla ice cream, sultanas and victoria plums. The drying finish brings blueberry notes, alongside ginger, black cherry and a peppery spice at the very end.

Foursquare Distillery with another release in their Exceptional Cask Selection series. This expression is a seventeen-year-old blend of light and heavy rums. The tipple was matured in ex-bourbon casks at Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. Bottled at 58% abv, it is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring. It is a blend of pot and column distilled rum.

Expect aromas of Madagascan vanilla, banana, toasted oak, and coconut on the nose. The palate brings sumptuous lashings of dates, pineapple, and raisins. The finish is lingering and warming with notes of bonfire smoke and cloves appearing at the close.

Foursquare Exceptional Cask Selection XXVIII ‘Convocation’ is a masterfully crafted Single Blended Rum aged for fourteen years in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Madeira casks. Distilled at the renowned Foursquare Rum Distillery using both copper pot still and twin column still methods, this expression delivers remarkable depth and complexity. Presented at a robust 62% ABV, it is bottled without chill-filtration, with natural colour and no added sweeteners.

The nose reveals layers of sultanas, pineapple, orange peel and subtle baking spices, while the palate unfolds with green banana, ripe plum, and soft toffee notes. A long, warming finish brings dried fruit and oak spice. 

Distilled at the Foursquare rum distillery in Barbados, this release was released as a part of the Exceptional Cask series. The blended rum expression combines rums that have been laid down to mature in ex-bourbon and ex-Calvados casks for a total of 14 years, before being bottled at 61.0% abv. 

Aromas of ginger, orchard fruits, dark chocolate and toffee lead to a palate of creamy apple pie, coconut and vanilla ice cream. The finish combines hazelnuts and coconut with astringent notes of black tea and a hint of fresh ginger spice.
