The Aberfeldy distillery is situated to the east of Aberfeldy village, in the heart of the Grampian mountains, and is one of the rarer distilleries from the South of the Highlands.The distillery opened in 1898, and this expression is not only excellent value, but also showcases rich Highland malt whiskies.
Deep- golden in colour – like amontillado sherry – natural with good legs. Beeswax cloaks the aroma, revealing with a heather, dried fruits and a coconut aroma. Full-flavoured and medium bodied, creamy on the tongue, with some honeyed notes and plenty of sherry – opens up into a long and lingering finish with orange peel and a hint of oak.

Aberlour 12 Year Old

The 12-year-old is ‘double cask matured’ in this manner and Oloroso sherry is prominent on the sweet nose, along with honey, almonds and wood. Christmas spices, sherry, stewed apple, honey and almonds appear on the palate, while ginger features in the lengthy, drying finish, along with nutmeg.

Matured in the highest quality casks, where it develops deep bourbon and Oloroso sherry flavours, this is the richest and most indulgent Aberlour expression. Perfect in structure and memorably eloquent.
On the nose it is rich and complex, with notes of toffee and butterscotch combining with ripe fruits. On the palate it is superbly structured, with initial notes of soft apricot and cream, offset by developing flavours of old leather and oak, with a touch of honey. The finish is very long progressing from crème brulée to a gentle oak flourish.

A total of 345 single casks were bottled as part of the Millennium, series of dunnage-matured expressions, with this cask reserved for DS (Lauderdale Properties) Ltd. Just 360 bottles were filled, each one bearing an individual bottle number.

It has a deep rich amber colour and on the nose there are terrific aromas of allspice, praline and spiced orange, in harmony with notes of Oloroso Sherry. The finish is robust and long lasting, with bittersweet notes

Aberlour A’bunadh Alba

This exciting release goes against the grain of Aberlour’s usual produce – famed for their sherry cask matured whiskies, Alba has spent its maturation period in first fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels. These casks have created a sweet and fruity expression, a far cry from the spicy cocoa flavours the original sherry cask matured A’bunadh boasts.
The expression has been bottled at cask strength 62.7% abv and is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring. Sunlight gold in colour, this whisky has notes of sweet, juicy fruits on the nose with hints of heather honey and warm vanilla. Zesty on the palate, flavours of grapefruit and apple dance across the tongue, complemented by notes of marzipan and shortbread which melts into a delectably smooth finish.

Agitator Evidens Ice Cider Cask
$88.00 Availability: In StockAgitator Evidens Ice Cider Cask is part of the Swedish distillery’s experimental Evidens series, created to challenge the higher cask strength of conventional Scotch whiskies (63.5% abv) and demonstrate that a lower cask strength (55% abv) can deliver remarkable depth and complexity. Distilled using Agitator’s vacuum distillation technique rather than the traditional Scottish filling strength, Agitator are able to allow the spirit and wood to interact in a more controlled way.
The whisky has been matured in a combination of Swedish ice cider casks and French Sauternes casks, a pairing that brings both freshness and richness to the final spirit. On the nose, baked apples and ripe pears meld with soft smoke and a touch of honeyed sweetness. The palate follows with more honeyed fruit, as well as the bright, crisp influence of the ice cider cask, with the Sauternes casks adding a bit of depth. The finish is warming and satisfying, leaving lingering notes of orchard fruit, and gentle smoke.
