Another brilliant bottling from the award-winning Exceptional Cask Selection series, this Mark XXVI release in the collection is this 16-year-old fine Barbados spirit, made of a blend of three aged rums.
Distilled in a double retort pot-still and the iconic twin column stills of Foursquare, the liquid is made even more distinctive by its two dual maturations. The first phase, consisting of three years, was spent luxuriating in an ex-Bourbon cask, followed by a leisurely 13-year soak in ex-Oloroso Sherry cask. The second maturation period comprising nine years in ex-Bourbon and seven years in ex-Oloroso Sherry. The beverage was finally bottled at a cask strength of 58% abv, with notes of rich fudge, salted caramel, gingerbread and zesty fruits redolent of a tropical shore.
