Description
This commemorative single malt celebrates 50 years of Fuji Gotemba Distillery with a carefully selected collection of malts distilled from the 1970s through to the 2010s, anchored by spirit from the inaugural 1973 vintage. Matured across a diverse range of casks, including American white oak ex-bourbon, ex-beer casks, Mizunara, Spanish oak Oloroso and French oak wine casks, it has been bottled non-chill-filtered at a natural cask strength of 52% ABV.
The nose opens with a mellow sweetness, offering caramel and brown sugar syrup layered with ripe apricot and fresh melon. On the palate, flavours of dried pineapple and white peach unfold over a smooth, rounded texture that highlights the distillery’s house style. The finish is expansive and lingering, with luscious, well-integrated oak character and a gentle sweetness that slowly fades.
