This single cask expression has been distilled at Islay’s Bunnahabhain distillery in 2007. Matured in a single refill hogshead for its full term of 11 years, it was bottled in 2018 by Hunter Laing & Co. of Glasgow, as part of their First Editions series. Each bottle in the series is presented free from chill filtration and artificial colouring at a preferred strength of 46% abv. This outturn has produced just 246 bottles.

The nose is sweet with caramel and berries alongside some gentle herbal notes. The palate brings sweet toffee apples and salted caramel with some grassy notes, before a cinnamon spice in the long and lingering finish.

Nose: peat smoke and a candied sweetness combine initially, opening up to more coastal elements such as harbour fumes, old fishing net rope and sun scorched sandy beaches; there is light orchard fruits of apple and pear adding a freshness.

Palate: a full blast of Islay smoke alongside ash and charred oak; over-ripe peaches, aniseed, liquorice and a touch of fresh mint offer a counter balance.

Finish: lingering peat smoke, white pepper spice and some coastal sea salt.

This 10-year-old single cask expression has been bottled by family-run independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. as part of their First Edition series. Distilled in 2008 at Craigellachie in Speyside, this single malt has been matured for a decade in a single sherry cask. Bottled in 2019 at a preferred strength of 46% abv, just 528 bottles were filled.

The nose has sweet strawberries and toffee apples. The palate brings more sweet berries with blackberries and an oaky spice. The finish is long and spicy with a lingering pepper note.

Bottled in 2019 by family-run independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. as part of the First Editions series, this expression produced just 330 bottles at a strength of 46% abv.

The nose has sweet apple and strawberry notes with a lemon zest edge. The palate brings more sweetness with salted caramel, followed by pepper and spices. The finish is long with lingering pepper notes.

The nose has apple, plum and raspberry notes. There’s sweet red berries on the palate, with toffee and dark chocolate, before a long finish with lingering pepper and spice.
