Distilled at one of Speyside’s finest distilleries, this expression has been matured for a total of 9 years before being selected as one of the first releases in our Twin Casks series.
Using our own twin cask method, we select an individual cask that is perfect for drinking, prepare it for bottling and then return it to a second cask. Once we are satisfied that it is fully rested, it is then bottled straight from the cask. Presented at a strength of 46% abv, each release in this hand-filled series is limited and only available to The Whisky Shop customers.
A strong European oak influence on the nose, with malt loaf, sultanas, raisins, allspice and citrus peel. The palate is light and smooth in texture with a sweet start, before a dry and peppery note emerges towards the warming finish.

Expect aromas of apple blossom, almond and vanilla before a lush grassy element. Smooth and pleasing in texture, the opulent and rounded floral taste starts lightly sweet and becomes elegantly drying, with a vibrant oaky spiciness that lingers on into the finish.

Glenlivet 12 Year Old Licensed Dram
$64.00 Availability: In StockReleased as the second part in The Original Stories collection from The Glenlivet, this expression celebrates the next chapter in founder George Smith’s life story. He became one of the first to gain a license to legally distill Scotch in 1824, hence the name. Licensed Dram was matured for 12 years in a combination of American and European oak, before being bottled at 48% abv. The box is wrapped in the distilling license granted to the man himself.
Expect notes of soft peaches and strawberry jam interlaced with warming cinnamon and ginger on the nose, before a palate bursting with honey, vanilla and hazelnut. The finish is long and slightly sweet, with lasting spiced notes.

Distilled on 3rd February 1940 and laid down in a single American oak cask by George Urquhart and his father John, this remarkable whisky represents the pinnacle of patience, vision, and craftsmanship. For eighty-five quiet years, the whisky rested in Cask #336 until, on 5th February 2025, its journey came to an end.
Only 125 decanters were filled, each presented in a bespoke creation designed by the acclaimed American architect Jeanne Gang, whose “Artistry in Oak” decanter design reflects both the natural beauty of wood and the enduring legacy of Gordon & MacPhail’s craft.
At 43.7% ABV, this extraordinary whisky opens with aromas of soft aged leather, apricot compote, cinnamon, and subtle waxy citrus fruits. Hints of vanilla, dried sultana, aniseed, and beeswax polish emerge as it develops, with delicate smoky undertones in the background. The palate is smooth yet vibrant, offering cracked black pepper, sweet dried tobacco, Seville orange peel, and rich plum and Morello cherry, balanced perfectly by gentle oak spice. The finish is long and full-bodied, with lingering herbal notes and a refined complexity that only time can bestow.

Created in the spirit of ‘what if’, this creation took Glenmorangie’s signature spirit and gently matured it in bespoke bourbon casks handpicked by their whisky creation team. Thes casks which were hand hewn and air dried to exact specifications, before being finished in a Madeira wine cask, elevating the liquid’s profile.
Bottled at a smooth 43% abv, you can expect a nose of fragrant carnation, rose, orange blossom, honey and peach, underscored with hints of vanilla and almond and classic Glenmorangie fruits, with peach and pear. The palate is oily and luscious, with sweet, fruity flavours. Mandarin, apples, pears and peaches, with a burst of tart gooseberry and hard, yellow plums. Then, gently sweet butter- candy notes, with soft oak-derived flavours – almond marzipan, icing sugar and ripe banana.
