An older release, this 50-year-old expression came of age in an oloroso sherry puncheon, and is bottled at 40.6% abv. Expect a nose of seductive honeyed oak with lychee and neroli, with a palate of star fruit and papaya, leading to a finish of soft sandalwood, passion fruit and cherries kissed by the sea.

The oldest release to date, this 51-year-old expression came of age in an oloroso sherry puncheon, and is bottled at 44.2% abv. Expect a nose of sun-dried raisin, sandalwood, and sea salt, with a palate of raisin balsamic, blackberry jus and salted treacle, and a finish of orange and sloe syrup.

Bottled at 50% abv, free from chill-filtration and artificial colouring. The nose is sweet and syrupy with barley, pineapple and vanilla, becoming more oaky. The palate is robust and peppery with green apples and barley, before salted caramel notes emerge. The finish is a vibrant combination of oak spice and gentle fruits.

Expect a nose of buttery vanilla ice-cream, tropical fruit, chocolate and a touch of sea salt. The palate brings waves of salted-caramel with bursts of pineapple, cherry and grapefruit, and an ocean breeze finish.

Glenglassaugh Torfa
$59.00 Availability: In StockGlenglassaugh was founded in 1875 by Colonel James Moir. Located on the Banffshire Coast, one mile west of the fishing village of Portsoy, Glenglassaugh is a true coastal distillery, and looks out over the white sandy beach of Sandend Bay. The distillery is just outside the Speyside region in the North East of Scotland making it a Highland distillery.
At Glenglassaugh, in addition to the traditional production, a very limited quantity of whisky is produced using richly peated malted barley as the cereal varietal. “Torfa”, referring to the Old Norse word for peat, is quite different to the usual style of whisky produced in the Highlands with its peaty, phenolic nature. This expression was matured in the finest Bourbon Barrels and is part of the Glenglassaugh core range. It is non chill filtered, and of natural colour.

With an outrun of just 111 bottles, this exquisite Highland dram is presented at a cask strength of 54.6% abv. Free from chill filtration.
Notes of cranberries, highland toffee and fresh cinnamon fill the nose, before a palate full of tropical fruit sweetness, rich oak, tangy marmalade and intense dark chocolate. On the finish, notes of Madagascan vanilla, soft spices and hints of butterscotch are revealed.
We recommend serving with a drop of water to unlock some more hidden tropical sweetness.

Bottled at 58.9% abv, and unchillfiltered, this single cask expression produced just 301 bottles, making it a rare as well as unique release.

The Highland single malt was aged for 24 years, before being bottled at 47.8% abv. Free from chill filtration.
The nose has vanilla, toasted oak, lemon curd, honey, plum jam, desiccated coconut and spiced apple pastry. The palate is gently balanced with intriguing depth, bringing flavours of bright lemon, key lime pie, honeycomb and gentle tropical notes. Soft oak warms the palate with hints of star anise, chocolate and vanilla, before a lengthy finish of toffee apple, delicate citrus and lingering oak.

On the nose, signature Glengoyne deep sherry notes combine with distinctive cinnamon sticks and vanilla aromas. Distilled at one of the finest distilleries in the Scottish Highlands, this expression has been matured for a total of 11 years before being selected as the first release in our new Twin Casks series.
Using our own twin cask method, we select an individual cask that is perfect for drinking, prepare it for bottling and then return it to a second cask. Once we are satisfied that it is fully rested, it is then bottled straight from the cask. Presented at a strength of 46% abv, each release in this hand-filled series is limited and only available to The Whisky Shop customers.
The nose is mild, with dried fruits and apple emerging slowly from a mineral base. The palate is pleasantly mouth-filling with a sweet and creamy texture alongside a slightly more savoury note, before a light spice in the finish.
