    Part of the First Editions range from independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co., this Speyside single malt was distilled in 2007 at Tamdhu distillery. Aged for 11 years in a single refill hogshead, it has been bottled in 2018 at a preferred strength of 46% abv free from chill filtration and artificial colouring. Just 381 bottles have been produced.

    The nose is wonderfully sweet and aromatic with caramel, orange, red fruits and a touch of beeswx. The palate is deliciously fruity with a pleasant nuttiness, before a rich and drying finish.

    This Speyside single malt was distilled in 2010 at Tamnavulin distillery. After ten years in a wine cask, this expression was bottled in 2021 by family-run independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. as part of the First Editions series. Only 434 bottles have been filled at a preferred strength of 46% abv, free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.

    Aromas of vanilla fudge and pineapple fill the nose. The palate is smooth and round, with crème brulée, fruits and yet more vanilla. The finish is long and sweet with a hint of fruit.

    This single cask expression from Hunterr Laing & Co.’s First Editions series was distilled in 2008 at Tullibardine in the Scottish Highlands. Matured in a single wine barrel for its full term, this limited edition release produced just 378 bottles in 2019, each one presented at a preferred strength of 46% abv, free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.

    The nose is fresh and sweet with vanilla, grass and caramel. The palate brings green apples and toffee with more floral aspects, before a long and sweet finish.

    This Glen Elgin 12 Year Old single malt is fit for a lord. This bottling by That Boutique-y Whisky Company is a classic Glen Elgin. Originating from a vatting of ex-bourbon hogsheads, this expression was distilled in February 2006 and matured for 12 years. The fifth batch of Glen Elgin, only 1830 bottles of this have been made.

    This is a weighty, complex dram. The nose gives hints of dried fruits, biscuit dough, toffee, and herbal notes. The palate is one of pineapple, vanilla cream, tropical fruits, and dried exotic spices. Expect a warming spice to settle in on the finish, with little hints of Christmas spices. A delight.

    One of the 2017 Special Releases from Diageo, this 18 year old Speyside single malt was distilled at Glen Elgin distillery in 1998. Assembled from two batches, one using Pombe yeast and matured in ex-bodega casks, the other using conventional cerevisiae yeast and matured in refill European oak butts, only 5,352 bottles have been produced at a cask strength of 54.8% abv.There’s sweet vanilla toffee on the nose, giving way to herbal notes of fennel and freshly cut grass, while candied nuts and polished oak mingle with cream and fresh fruits. The palate is smooth and sweet, with honey and brown sugar atop oaky spice and light cinnamon. The finish is dry and oaky with brown sugar and hints of anise.

Released as part of the Private Collection series by Gordon & Macphail, this single malt was distilled in November 1976 and bottled in March 2021. Aged in a refill American hogshead, this is a rich, full, unique dram. Only 40 bottles exist of this cask, making it incredibly rare to find.

    On the nose, tropical aromas arise with honeycomb, coconut, vanilla, and dried banana. The palate is rich, with sweet fruit it coming to the fore along with Seville orange, almonds, and grapefruit. The finish is decadent, full, and long with lingering citrus and toasted hazelnuts.

    This single malt is the final release of Warehouse 1’s inaugural year of bottlings, and this is finishing with a bang. This is a Glen Moray whisky that is distilled in 2008 and matured in a variety of casks for 13 years. It was firstly matured in ex-bourbon casks, then being transferred into four ex-Manzanilla sherry casks for its finishing period. Cask strength at 54.6% abv, this is free from chill filtration and arrives with a beautiful cask-imparted colour. Warehouse 1 is home of Glen Moray’s ‘hidden gems’, and this one fits the bill. A release of only 1240 bottles, this 2008 Manzanilla finish is a dram with a lot of depth.

    Expect soft, sweet ripe pears on the nose, alongside hints of fresh cut grass, chamomile, tea, and green apples. Oaky tannins are present on the palate, with a decadent, velvety smooth mouthfeel harmonising with flavours of herbal tea, and a certain saltiness. This salinity is followed through on the finish, with is long, lingering, and savoury.
