Deanston 10 Year Old Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Finish

Fragrant and fruity on the nose, the aromas are of peach, apple crumble and lemon tart. The palate is full and creamy, with a burst of red fruits, damson jam and dark cherries. Dark chocolate lingers in the aftertaste of a short and sweet finish.Â

This expression was distilled and filled into whisky re-fill casks in December 2002 for 14 years, before being transferred into organic PX casks in May 2016. Just 2505 bottles were produced, all at a cask strength of 49.3% ABV and without chill-filtration or added colouring.Â
Very dry on the nose, this eco-conscious malt has slightly sulphury notes which roll back to reveal sweet dried fruits, raisins and dates. The palate is sweeter, with caramel and maple-syrup coating the mouth, alongside mixed candied peel and sherry soaked raisins. The finish is long and sweet, fading to honeyed cashews.Â

Cherries, black forest gâteaux, sweet spice, nutmeg and sultanas combine on the nose. The palate is one of treacle toffee, pine, milky coffee and festive spices. These combine in a long and warming finish, with subtle notes of gingerbread and nutmeg.
