$56.00 Availability: In StockThe sixteenth edition in The Living Cask series of batched releases from Loch Fyne Whiskies in Inveraray, this intriguing blended malt is built upon the original and award-winning The Living Cask 1745. This batch was bottled at 43.6% abv as a natural progression from the fifteenth.
Made according to the historic technique described in Professor George Saintsbury’s 1920 book, Notes on a Cellar, The expression is made from a cask that is constantly topped up with different whiskies and never emptied. The Living Cask will never die and will always be an evolution of its Islay origins. Every batch crafted is unique, meaning each intriguing expression is a limited edition release.
Please note: Our Loch Fyne Whiskies products are presented in handmade glass bottles. Due to their handmade nature, these bottles can show small imperfections such as grooves and seams in the glass.

The Loch Fyne Living Cask Batch 18
$56.00 Availability: In StockIn 1920, renowned connoisseur, Professor George Saintsbury, published Notes on a Cellar. In it he described an old method of drinking a mix of whiskies from a cask that is constantly topped up and never emptied. He wrote: “thus you establish what is called, in the case of sherry, a ‘solera’ in which the constantly changing character of the old constituents doctors the new accessions, and in which these, in turn, freshen and strengthen the old.” Loch Fyne’s The Living Cask takes its inspiration from this long-abandoned practice.
In this latest release, The Loch Fyne Living Cask Batch 18, is made with not only the signature Living Cask blend but also topped up with two beloved distilleries who recently celebrated bicentenaries. Sitting at 43.6% ABV, this is one to sip and savour.

The Macallan 12 Year Old 110 Proof European Exclusive

A truly rare gem, this limited release liquid was crafted with care and matured predominantly in European sherry oak casks, with just a hint of influence from American sherry-seasoned oak. It is not only a classic example of the depth and elegance that The Macallan is famed for but also showcases The Macallan’s bolder edge, with its higher abv offering a richer and more intense experience than the classic 12 Year Old Sherry Oak (which sits at 40%).

This expression was laid to rest for eleven years in oak casks in 2010. Bottled in 2022, it was given a seven-month long finish in an octave cask. On the nose, there are aromas of dark chocolate, oak fruitiness, cloves, and fresh coffee. The palate is exotic, rich, and sweet – prepare for bursts of sherry and sparks of sweet cinnamon. The finish is long and unadulterated with more sweet sherry notes and a touch of oak spice.

Aromas of banana loaf, fresh summer berries, and white chocolate arrive on the nose. This sweetness continues on the palate, with hints of almonds and chocolate appearing, followed by massive sherry notes. The finish has the slightest hint of smoke which is quickly extinguished by some hidden notes of tropical fruit.
