    $19.00 Availability: In Stock
Fine single malt whisky has been made in Oban for over 200 years, in one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. In effect, the town grew up around the distillery and since its foundation in 1794 it has played a crucial role in local life.Oban is made using only the finest barley, malted to the distillery’s own particular specification. The tiny lantern-shaped copper pot stills are among the smallest in Scotland; their rich, fruity malt is then slowly condensed in wooden worm tubs that sit outside among the rooftops, before being aged in oak casks for at least 14 years.

Distilled in March 1991, this was only bottled in May 2021. A single cask whisky, this is a giant Magnum bottle that contains 150cl of the fantastic liquid, enough to share. This whisky was matured in a refill hogshead and is bottled at 53.2% abv. We don’t know if this is a record for The Whisky Shop, but this has a truly tiny yield of just 39 bottles. An unforgettable bottle.

Rich, gold in colour, the nose is an archetypal Islay. Aromas of sweet iodine, sea salt, and peat smoke waft upwards.
