This Speyside single malt is an older presentation of The Macallan. Matured exclusively in the finest sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain, for three decades before bottling, this 30-year-old expression is presented in a handsome blue case at a strength of 43% abv.

This 2020 release from The Macallan is aged exclusively in Oloroso sherry seasoned casks from Jerez for all thirty years of its maturation. The result is a luxurious, naturally dark, Speyside single malt full of rich dried fruits and spice. Unsurprisingly there’s rich sherry notes on the nose, with orange clove, nutmeg and wood smoke following. The incredibly smooth palate brings dried fruits, more sherry and orange with a wisp of wood smoke, before a long and lingering spiced orange note in the finish.

The Macallan Amber is part of the colour-themed 1824 non age statement series of whiskies. Originating from Speyside, the Amber edition has been created exclusively in sherry casks, and is a full flavoured and rich single malt. Unsurprisingly deep amber in colour, it should be noted that the oak influence on this whisky is incredible.

Plenty of vanilla notes, citrus and soft chocolate on the nose, and a hint of ginger spice. This leads to a pleasantly surprising fruity taste, with more dried fruits and cereal biscuits on the palate. Definitely a step up in flavour and fullness from the Gold expression in the series. The finish is oaky, with a touch of dried fruit and Christmas-themed spices.

This stunning example of The Macallan 25 Year Old was distilled at Easter Elchies in 1965 and matured exclusively in sherry wood for a quarter of a decade. Bottled in 1990 at 43% abv, this always sought-after collector’s item is presented in a wooden case scorched with The Macallan branding.

This Speyside single malt from the iconic Macallan distillery was released in 2018. Crafted with Oloroso sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain, this expression is bottled at a strength of 51.2% abv, chosen by the Whisky Maker Ian Morrison as the optimum strength to reveal this limited edition’s flavour. This 2018 release is the second in the Classic Cut series.

This limited edition release from The Macallan celebrates the city of London. Crafted with the help of the Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca – named Best Restaurant in the World on two separate occasions – this Speyside single malt has been matured in six first-fill European oak Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks specially selected by the Roca brothers to represent the spirit of the UK capital. The unique release is presented in a stunning presentation case engraved with a stylised map of London and is accompanied by a luxurious book documenting the inspirations behind the expression.

Joan Roca said: “The taste is slightly umami, with the subtle touch of curry and the sweetness of Earl Grey tea, as well as keeping The Macallan’s signature taste of orange, vanilla and raisin. There are some special notes in there that are really rare to find.”

The third in an annual series of innovative limited editions, this Speyside single malt is the result of a creative collaboration between Bob Dalgarno, Whisky Maker at The Macallan, and Master Perfumer, Roja Dove. With the aid of Dove’s remarkable sensory knowledge, Dalgarno shaped the character of Edition No.3 from a combination of European and American oak casks.The nose is aptly reminiscent of a fine fragrance, vanilla ice cream and delicate floral notes leading orange oil, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate has sweet fruit, vanilla and rich fruit cake emerging amidst apricot, pear, green apple and hints of ginger, cinnamon and oak. The long fruity finish leaves a lasting sweet impression.

The fourth release in the Edition Series from The Macallan, this Speyside single malt is a celebration of the distillery’s whisky making heritage, combining a unique selection of oak cask styles. Edition No.4 reflects the craftsmanship and pioneering design of the new Macallan distillery.The nose is bold and rounded with honey and sweet apples atop orange zest, ginger, nutmeg and polished oak. The palate has rich nutmeg and wood spice to the fore, with sweet vanilla emerging to coat the mouth, before a fruity oak finish.
