This 21-year-old single malt from Loch Lomond was released alongside the distillery’s attractive brand refresh in 2020. Loch Lomond 21 Year Old uses three styles of spirit: two of which are peated, all of which have been matured in a mix of American oak casks. Then, under the watchful eye of Master Blender Michael Henry, these spirits are married together for up to three months before bottling at 46% ABV. A natural beauty; this expression is free from chill filtration and additional colouring.

“The colour of polished brass. The top notes combine apple with suet pastry to give an overall impression of old fashioned steamed pudding. The aroma becomes thicker and sweeter in time, with a hint of char. The taste is sweet, lightly salty, with some warming spice at reduced strength.” – Charlie McLean’s tasting notes from the Autumn 2020 edition of Whiskeria.

  • Longmorn 16 year old

    Longmorn 16 year old

    $95.00 Availability: In Stock
Longmorn was founded in 1893 by John Duff, one of the great personalities of the Victorian whisky industry, attracted by the booming demand for quality Scotch Whisky. The distillery’s name derives from the church of St Marnoch near the Elgin to Rothes road, in turn named for a 7th century missionary who brought Christianity to the Picts of Moray. Although, the Gaelic ‘St Mo-ernin-og’ evolved to ‘Longmorn’ over the centuries, the natural ingredients used in the whisky remain as pure as in St Marnoch’s day: water from the local springs, barley from Moray and peat from nearby sources – all contributing to the signature Speyside character for which Longmorn is so highly prized. Longmorn 16yo is in great demand not only as a single malt but as the ‘top dressing’ in many of Scotland’s finest blended whiskies.
