Renowned for their sensational casks, The Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask is the perfect addition to any whisky lover’s collection. This limited edition malt has spent 18 years slumbering in the famous Speyside distillery in American and European sherry seasoned oak casks. The American oak adds sweet vanilla alongside the European oak which invokes rich spice, resulting in a decadent naturally amber coloured whisky. This single malt is free from artificial colouring and is bottled at 43% abv.

The nose is met with the warm scent of fruitcake and toffee which moves into a delactable ginger sponge cake and vanilla on the palate. It rounds off into a warm and spicy finish, with a hint of sweet orange zest.

A 2016 bottling of Macallan from its Fine & Rare series showcases a dram distilled in March 1991 and brought up in 2016. Aromas of apple, dried fruit, vanilla, almonds, and nutmeg arrive on the nose. The palate is sweet and spicy, with hints of raisins and figs. The finish is warming, fruity, soft yet resinous, with a velvety sweetness.

This Macallan presents the recognisable notes from the distillery. The nose is one of sweet toffee, dried fruits, vanilla pods and honeycomb. Harmonies between cinnamon, ginger, sultanas and toasted oak all arise on the palate. The finish is decadent, with lingering notes of soft spice, toffee, and sweet, freshly planed oak.
