Nose: Dry smoke through a heather thatched roof, beeswax, gorse and vanilla.

Palate: A basket of red and green apples, heather honey on the comb, some walnuts and cinnamon.

Finish: Dry heather with a faint wisp of smoke.

Inspired by the winter solstice celebration on Orkney, this limited edition expression from Highland Park has been matured in European oak sherry-seasoned casks for 17 years to deliver a deep and distinctive flavour. Presented at a natural cask strength of 52.9% abv, with no added colouring, only 28,000 bottles have been produced. Packed with dried fruits, cinnamon, toasted almonds, cedar wood, and fruitcake, overlaid with hints of smoky peat.

Highland Park Valfather is the third and final release in the acclaimed Viking Legend series from the Orkney distillery. Celebrating the island’s 600 years of Norse rule, this limited edition series was created in collaboration with Danish desinger, and true Viking soul, Jim Lyngvild, with each of the whiskies hand-selected by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion. Valfather has been crafted with 100% refill casks and bottled at 47% abv.

The nose is fruity, with crisp apple and sweet pear notes. The palate brings creamy vanilla and creme brulee with toasted cedar wood and a touch of paprika spice, before a long and floral finish with wisps of Highland Park’s heather peat smoke.

This Island single malt from Orkney’s Highland Park distillery is the second in the Viking Legend series which began with Highland Park Valkyrie. Valknut takes its name from the Norse symbol of three interlinked triangles, meaning ‘knot of those killed in battle’, which was placed upon fallen Viking warriors before they would be spirited away to Valhalla to join Odin’s army. Highland Park Valknut has been matured predominantly in sherry seasoned American oak and used a small amount of Orkney-grown Tartan barley, which adds a smokier edge to the character.The nose has toasted vanilla, cracked black pepper, cloves and aniseed with an aromatic smoke. The palate is sweet with aromatic cloves and tangy aniseed hints. The finish is incredibly balanced, with lingering peat smoke and sweet spice.

Bottled as part of the First Cask series, it has been distilled at Inchgower distillery in Speyside. Distilled in September 1976 it has been matured for nearly two decades in a single cask before being bottled at 46% abv. with an individual bottle number stated on each.

Part of the 2018 Special Release from Diageo, this limited edition Speyside single malt was distilled in 1990 at Inchgower in Speyside and matured for almost three decades before being bottled at a cask strength of 55.3% abv.Limited to just 8,544 bottles, it has a dry and savoury nose, with walnuts, malt and a touch of toffee. The palate is sweet and smooth, drying to reveal a spice in the finish.

This expression from Loch Lomond Distillery has been matured for 18 years in casks hand selected by Master Cooper, Tommy Wallace, to allow the sweeter notes of the whisky to emerge. Bottled at 46% abv, this Highland Single Malt is presented non chill-filtered.The nose is rich in heather honey, perfectly balanced with crafted oak wood notes. The palate is full-bodied with a strong oak character harmonising with tropical fruit notes of pineapple, mango and kiwi. The finish is long and warming, with elegant oak and stem ginger notes.

This single malt Scotch whisky has been selected exclusively for members of The W Club by the club’s Cask Committee. Crafted at Loch Lomond distillery as part of the ‘grassy-style’ Inchmurrin series. Distilled in November 2004 and matured in a single French oak barrel for 15 years, this expression was bottled in December 2019 at a natural cask strength of 54.6% abv, producing just 393 bottles.

The nose is fruity and grassy with sweet notes of golden syrup. The palate brings an initial burst of zesty citrus lemon, followed by fresh pineapple, creamy vanilla and melted brown sugar, before a pleasantly tangy note in the finish.

That Boutique-y Whisky Co. have bottled their 21st batch of Invergordon which has been aged for a whopping half-century! Invergordon make some of the finest grain whisky in the world thanks to their famous Coffey still – spelt like John Coffey from The Green Mile… This one is limited to 328 bottles at a strength of 47.5% ABV. On the nose expect sticky Medjool dates and sweet cardamom buns, moving to spiced oak, caramel and hazelnuts on the palate finishing sweet and buttery.

This whisky signifies the rebirth of the Jura distillery on the island of Jura in 1963. On the front of the bottle is a Celtic symbol for birth, beginnings and the forces of nature. The 10 year old is aged in ex-Bourbon casks for 10 years and is light and delicate with a warming honey finish.
