An outstanding Bunnahabhain expression released by That Boutique-y Whisky Company as part of their Boutique-y Records series. Transport yourself to Islay with this beautiful maritime dram. The single malt enjoyed a 26 year long slumber before 132 bottles were filled at 41% abv.

The nose gives aromas of barley sugar, vibrant citrus peel, and aromatic oak. The barley sugar continues into the palate, complemented by sea breeze and baked peaches. The finish is oaky and spicy with gentle notes of malt loaf appearing at the close.

To mark the grand occasion of Feis Ile 2023, Bunnahabhain have released this exceptional example of their classic unpeated sherried style. Initially laid down in American oak casks in 1998, the expression was then finished in first-fill Manzanilla sherry casks for a further seven years. Manzanilla sherry is famed for its coastal, nutty characteristics, which pair beautifully with Bunnahabhain’s shared flavour. The result is a warmly welcoming dram, with notes of salt & spice, fitting for the best of celebrations.

Expect aromas reminiscent of almond croissants leading to rose petal, grapefruit and mixed spice notes, with a touch of woody incense. On the palate we find waves of Bunnahabhain’s signature coastal flavours of sea air and seaweed, alongside notes of dried fruit, creamy fudge, red apple and star anise. An aromatic close finishes this spectacular dram, with a lasting touch of sea salt.

Mòine is the Scots Gaelic word for ‘peat’ which is fitting for this bold Islay bottling. A celebration of Bunnahabhain’s mastery over smoke and flavour, this release is at once smooth at 46.3% abv, and punchy with its sugar and smoke flavour profile. 

On the nose, burnt sugar, exotic fruit and briny sea salt. The palate is bright tart green apple, more salty smoke waves, and fudgy sweetness. The finish is herbal, and spicy, lingering long.
