Description
The name “Abhainn Araig” means “Araig River” which is a river on the island of Islay. This river feeds into the Margadale River which is Bunnahabhain’s primary water source. This special limited release expression has been launched to celebrate this year’s Feis Ile. Inspired by the waters of Islay, this dram is presented at 50.8% abv, free from chill filtration, and arrives with a natural cask-imparted colour. The expression was matured in a combination of Pedro Ximenez, bourbon, and Oloroso casks to create an exceptionally well balanced spirit. A truly special expression for the Islay Whisky Festival.
The nose gives aromas of tobacco, milk chocolate, and ginger. The rich milk chocolate continues in the palate, complemented by dried raspberries, honey, and macadamia nuts. A sumptuous finish full of cinnamon spiced toffee awaits.
