The limited edition is bottled at 48% abv. Illustrator Alfredo Rios has created a piece of artwork for the pack, which brings to life some of the key cultural elements central to the Mexican festival. These include the Marigold flower, which symbolise a hope of being reunited with loved ones as their aroma is thought to attract the souls who have passed. ​
On the nose, we find aromas of sugared pan de muerto bread, creamy vanilla, sweet pineapple, fragrant marigold flowers and a hint of fresh green coriander. The intensely sweet palate brings flavours of orange oil and chocolatey Mexican mole with charred pineapple, before a finish with hints of charred coals.

The nose opens with warm cinnamon wood spice and orange oil, moving into dried fruits with a sweet lemon curd and banoffee pie. The palate has more of that spice with dry oak, raisin and figs, finishing up with more citrus sweetness.

Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 1950
$44,750.00 Availability: In StockAn incredible release in the Exceptional Single Cask series, this Speyside single malt was distilled at The Macallan while rationing was still in force. Laid down in a first fill American oak sherry butt (#1683) on 9th November 1950, this single cask was left to mature in The Macallan warehouses for almost seven decades before it was chosen for bottling in 2018. Limited to just 336 bottles at a natural cask strength of 53.4% abv, this 67-year-old expression is truly magnificent.
Selected for bottling by Macallan Whisky Maker, Nick Savage, this expression is said to have aromas of polished antique oak, delicate peaches and vanilla. The palate is noted for its intense antique oak with wood spices, orange peel zest, warm root ginger and subtle hints of peat. The finish is long with a dry sweetness and peat.

This addition to The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask series was distilled in January 1997 and spent 22 years maturing in a sherry butt before being bottled at 56.7% abv. There were just 606 bottles of this ultra-rare Speyside expression produced.
This whisky has baking spices and sweet orange oil on the nose. On the palate, there is dried fruit and sweet honey before leading into a finish full of soft oak and lingering spice.

The nose has sweet cherry and oak notes, with vanilla, ginger spice and figs all emerging. The palate brings a sweet raisin influence from the sherry butt, with an oak spice and nutmeg complementing ginger and chocolate notes. The finish is medium length with oak spice developing into a lingering sweetness.

Bottled in August of that year at a natural cask strength of 57.6% abv, just 581 bottles were produced as an exclusive for the European, Asian and Global Travel Retail markets, with bottles also available direct from The Macallan.
The nose has smoked almonds and cloves, with orange oil, dried fruits and mature oak. The palate brings a sweet and spicy ginger to the fore, with oak spice, liquorice and bitter orange, before a medium length finish with a dry nuttiness.

Incredibly rare and highly sought after, this single malt has been triple matured in a combination of sherry seasoned Spanish oak casks, sherry seasoned American oak casks, and bourbon seasoned American oak casks. The result is a sumptuously smooth and stunningly intricate expression.
The nose is rich and striking, with notes of honey and passionfruit appearing. The palate is equally rich, with flavours of Christmas cake and sweet orange peel dancing across the tongue. This leads into the long and slightly smoky finish. A truly accomplished dram.
