Part of the revered Fine & Rare series from The Macallan, this 32-year-old expression was distilled in 1937 and was originally bottled in 1969 before being re-bottled in 2002. Presented at a strength of 43% abv, this release had a total outturn of just 174 bottles.The nose has fresh apples and lemon citrus with light ginger and floral aspects, alongside mature wood, dried fruits and peat smoke. The palate brings apple and lemon with hints of drying wood and warming peat. The finish is a balance of fruits and wood notes with drying peat smoke.

Presented at a natural cask strength of 44.3% abv, this release had a total outturn of just 350 bottles.The nose has rich lemon citrus and a strong peat smoke, with hints of ginger and apple. The palate brings more of the lemon, combining with mature wood and strong peat, before a lingering smoky finish.

One of our top finds. This Macallan 1976 Fine & Rare is a single cask single malt that was distilled back in 1976. It underwent a 29-year-long maturation in a Spanish oak sherry butt. A decadent slumber for a rich whisky. Bottled at cask strength, this arrives with a cask-imparted colour and without chill filtration. An archetypal expression of The Macallan’s signature characteristics, this was bottled in 2006 and is a jewel in The Macallan’s history.

The nose is full to the brim. Notes of toffee apple, dates, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, oak, and peat smoke all weave together. The palate is woody, spicy, with hints of peaty smoke, peaches, and dates. Dried fruits, spices, and toasted oak all harmonise on a grand finish. One that may steal the show, even on the most special of occasions.

As any whisky collector will know, some drams are just quite simply fascinating. We think this one fits the bill. A 2016 bottling of Macallan from its Fine & Rare series showcases a dram distilled in March 1991 and brought up in 2016. It matured in American oak Vasyma puncheon cask, sherry seasoned in Jerez, for 25 years. This Highland single malt whisky is as Macallan as can be. Bottled at 49.4% abv, this is a showstopping edition in a highly sought-after series.

Aromas of apple, dried fruit, vanilla, almonds, and nutmeg arrive on the nose. The palate is sweet and spicy, with hints of raisins and figs. The finish is warming, fruity, soft yet resinous, with a velvety sweetness.
