This whisky was predominantly matured in sherry-seasoned American oak casks, which impart sweetness, vanilla and gentle spice, while sherry-seasoned European oak casks contribute richness, structure, and depth. The inclusion of ex-Bourbon American oak casks also adds an extra layer of complexity. This careful cask selection process ensures a perfect blend between tea-inspired notes and The Macallan’s own sherried character. Bottled at 43.9% ABV, this expression offers a fine balance of elegance, richness, and vibrancy.
On the nose, The Macallan Harmony Collection No. 5 reveals summery peaches and ripe apricots entwined with the heady sweetness of floral honey. Tropical fruit notes meet toffee and sweet oak, creating an indulgent aroma of fruit desserts. The palate mirrors this with more fruit and buttery toffee notes, which are given a zingy twist with a note of citrus. Light floral tastes then emerge with a leafy sharpness reminiscent of fine tea. The finish is a long and lingering impression of orchard fruits, delicate florals, and tea-like dryness.
