Benriach The Twelve is a Speyside single malt that has been matured in a combination of sherry casks, bourbon barrels and port pipes, all married together under the expert care of Master Blender Rachel Barrie. Part of the refreshed core line-up from Benriach, this new recipe for the 12-year-old expression brings intensified notes of baked fruits and a rich smoothness.
The nose has rich notes of maple honey and cocoa. The palate brings baked fruits, maraschino cherries, orange oil and hazelnuts before sultanas and spiced mocha in the long lasting finish.
Inspired by traditional Speyside malts of the 19th century, Benriach The Smoky Twelve is crafted with peated and unpeated spirit, matured in sherry casks, bourbon barrels and Marsala wine casks. A smooth and creamy expression with layers of aromatic peat smoke, this 2020 release is part of the refreshed core line-up from Benriach distillery.
Smoked vanilla and charred orange lead the way with some toasted almond notes. The palate opens with rich dark chocolate, fruit peel and brown sugar, before smoked oak, cocoa and orange oil in the finish.

Only 225 bottles were produced, each at a cask strength of 52.6% abv and without chill filtration or colouring.
Sweet and smoky on the nose with some savoury notes, toasted coconut, vanilla and tropical fruit. The palate has pink pepper, barbequed pineapple, brown sugar and apples, alongside a spicy oak note that lingers in the finish.Â

Benriach 2005 UK Exclusive Pedro Ximenez Cask #5278
$105.00 Availability: In StockBottled exclusively for the UK market, this Benriach single cask comes from a single Pedro Ximenez sherry cask that was laid down to mature back in 2005 for 13 years. Only 546 bottles were produced, each at a cask strength of 56.4% abv and without chill filtration or colouring.
Apple crumble, sticky toffee pudding and autumnal fruits fill the nose. The apples develop in the palate alongside orange jam and malty sweetness. Simply delicious.Â

$96.00 Availability: In StockEach Cask Edition at Benriach is designed to capture a moment of time in the distillery’s journey toward the pursuit of single malt flavour. This expression is a Port Pipe single malt. A peated dram, it was aged for 11 years and has a yield of only 863 bottles. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2020, this 11-year-old single cask malt is as Speyside as can be.
Aromas of dessert come to the fore on this one. Strawberry panna cotta, vanilla cheesecake, and honeyed fruit syrup are all present. The palate continues this decadence, with chocolate velvet cake combining with hints of spiced orange, red apple, and angelica root. The palate is dry, coating, and delicious.

BenRiach 2009 12 Year Old Cask #4835

Personally selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, this is a Cask Edition bottled exclusively for the U.K., that we are happy to offer now at The Whisky Shop. This spent 12 years slumbering in a port pipe cask. This has given is an antique copper cask-imparted colour, the finished expression arriving at 59.7% abv. Laid down in 2009 and bottled in 2021, this is free from artificial colouring and chill filtration.
Expect a whiff of campfire smoke, malty notes, and pear on the nose. The palate is one of red velvet chocolate cake, strong espresso, and dark cherries. The finish lingers on this cherry note, in an oily, superb exit.

It is the oldest Benriach peated expression, and this malt is non chill filtered and of natural colour.
Authenticus captures a fantastic fusion of rich peat and fresh herbs with a rush of honey providing a sweet contrast. This is a most unusual dram and not to be missed.

The palate offers dark chocolate and brittle toffee with dates and malt loaf notes. A gradual build of peat smoke balances with a crisp floral oak finish.
