Distilled on 12th September 2008, we’ve chosen to bottle this Highlander at a preferred strength of 40% abv.The nose is floral with summer aromas of cut grass and fresh pea pods before creamy milk chocolate, sugared almonds and freshly baked scones. The palate has crisp citrus notes with a gin-like juniper and a touch of coriander and white pepper. The finish is grassy with lemon and toasted oak. -

Distilled at one of the finest distilleries in the Scottish Highlands, this expression has been matured for a total of 11 years before being selected as the first release in our new Twin Casks series.
Using our own twin cask method, we select an individual cask that is perfect for drinking, prepare it for bottling and then return it to a second cask. Once we are satisfied that it is fully rested, it is then bottled straight from the cask. Presented at a strength of 46% abv, each release in this hand-filled series is limited and only available to The Whisky Shop customers.
The nose is mild, with dried fruits and apple emerging slowly from a mineral base. The palate is pleasantly mouth-filling with a sweet and creamy texture alongside a slightly more savoury note, before a light spice in the finish.

A strong European oak influence on the nose, with malt loaf, sultanas, raisins, allspice and citrus peel. The palate is light and smooth in texture with a sweet start, before a dry and peppery note emerges towards the warming finish.

Glenkinchie 24 Year Old 2016 Special Release
$310.00 Availability: In StockPart of the Diageo Special Releases 2016 collection, this limited edition Lowland Single Malt was distilled in 1991 at Glenkinchie and matured in refill European oak butts. Aged for 24 years, this is the oldest cask strength expression from the distillery in this series with only 5,928 individually numbered bottles available worldwide.The nose offers tangy lime notes with toffee apple and hints of walnuts on a biscuit base. Pineapple, orange and raisin emerge with caramel and melting butter. The palate is smooth and warming becoming spicy and woody with cedar, banana toffee and vanilla cream. Deep ginger notes and crunchy cereals develop before a long and warm finish with cinnamon characteristics.
