A rich and full-bodied single malt matured in a variety of casks, which were previously used to age bourbon and sherry, for a minimum of 18 years. A pleasantly sweet and warming malt from the oldest distillery on the wild and stormy island of Skye.

The nose is sumptuous with candied orange peel, tropical fruits, and thick toffee. The palate is inviting, fruity, and smoky before leading into the medium-length, spicy finish.

This Talisker expression was distilled while Winston Churchill was still Prime Minister in 1952. Bottled at 43% abv in 1973, this Skye Single Malt is a glass of history.The nose is rounded with big notes of orange, developing into mint and cough syrup. The palate is nice and bright with Talisker’s recognisable pepper and lemon giving way to oak and sherry notes. The finish is fruity, smoky and captivating.

This Island single malt is the oldest expression released commercially to date from the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye. Distilled in 1978, this limited edition has been aged in refill American oak barrels before being finished in 40 year old amontillado sherry casks from Delgado Zuleta, one of Jerez’s oldest sherry producers, in homage to the type of whisky that would have been produced at the distillery in the early 20th century.The first release in the Bodega Series, just 2,000 bottles of this 40 year old have been produced at a strength of 50% abv. Described as ‘a deep, crystal gold liquid’, the palate offers white grape and sultanas, alongside Talisker’s characteristic sea salt and smoke.

The second release in the Bodega Series, just 2,000 bottles of this 41-year-old have been produced at a strength of 50.7% abv. The nose is spicy with a fruity middle and a maritime base. The palate is rich and smooth with sweet fudge initially, before a salty note brings some balance, with a peppery heat and chilli-pepper kick building before the long and hot finish with lingering peat smoke.

Highlighting the latitudinal position of the distillery – one of the most remote and northerly at its rugged home on the Isle of Skye, Talisker 57 North has no age statement.

Drawn from 100% American oak refill casks, it has a purity which emphasises Talisker’s unique and intense distillery character.

Part of the 2018 Special Release from Diageo, this limited edition Island single malt from Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye has been matured in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads for eight years before bottling at a natural cask strength of 59.4% abv.Only available in limited quantities worldwide, it has an incredibly powerful nose, with characteristic chilli-pepper, smoke and maritime notes. The palate is oily and sweet with light salt and a spicy finish.

From a malt rich in maritime character, this adventurous release of Talisker is the first ever to be finished in pot-still Caribbean rum casks. They have enlivened the marine scents and peppery punch of this Skye distillery’s colourful character with the rich, dark and exotic sweetness of warmer climes. Part of the Diageo Special Releases 2020 range, this expression is highly-limited.

The nose feels light, with signature sweet and maritime notes forming the top layer; molasses and demerara sugar emerge from beneath and boast the rum cask influence. Expect an initial soft and smooth texture, before the Talisker pepperiness takes over the palate; a touch of water will soften the rich sweetness. A long, hotly pepper and drying finish lingers on the tongue. 

The Talisker Distillers Edition is older, sweeter and richer than the regular bottlings. After its usual aging process in American oak casks, the whisky undergoes a second maturation in casks previously holding sherry to create a richer expression of this island favourite.

The double maturation in ex-sherry barrels gives this whisky a delicious full-bodied flavour, with lots of rich fruit and sultanas. Well-balanced, with a perfect combination of sweet fruits and intense pepper.
