Feast your eyes upon this Strathisla 35 Year Old single malt whisky. Part of Gordon & Macphail’s Private Collection, this Speysider was distilled back in June 1985. It matured for the full 35 years in a refill bourbon barrel, and was bottled at 57.8% abv. Brought up in April 2021, this Strathisla is a yield of just 104 bottles, each one arriving in a unique hand-blown crystal decanter.

Expect the aromas of orange peel, cigar box, butterscotch, floral notes, red apple, and banana to arise. The palate has a certain lemon zestiness to it, along with oak, vanilla, velvety chocolate, and sweet tropical fruit. Expect this citrus note to linger in a long, fruity finish.

From the world-acclaimed Connoisseurs Choice range comes this Strathisla single malt whisky, independently bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. Distilled in 1987, this expression has spent 33 years in a refill American hogshead before being bottled in October 2020 at 55% abv without chill filtration or added colouring. Highly limited, just 174 bottles have been produced.

Apple cinnamon and honey fill the nose, with notes of fresh grass lingering. Smooth tropical fruit flavours and spicy black pepper on the palate, with golden syrup and nutty notes coming through. The finish is soft and sweet with apple and freshly cut grass.

This seventh batch from the Strathmill Distillery by That Boutique-y Whisky Company is a 22-year-old single malt. Distilled in September 1996, this was matured in a single butt until bottling. This is a release of just 683 bottles, all presented at 49.6% abv. The Strathmill Distillery started it’s life as a porridge oats mill, so Goldilocks gets a highly sought-after appearance on a TBWC label.

The nose is one of summer flowers, sweet caramel, and a hint of Arabica coffee. Expect malty and ripe notes of waxy pear and cooked, tender red meat on the palate. These flavours combine wonderfully on the finish, which is long and juicy.

A limited edition, natural cask strength single malt from Strathmill, a Speyside distillery rarely seen as a single malt. This is the first extra-mature bottling to be made by the original distillers and the first Strathmill in this series of limited releases.

Distilled in 1988 and matured in refill American Oak casks, there are only 2,700 individually numbered bottles available world-wide.

A dense aroma with a mild nose-feel; thick and creamy, it hovers between sweet and sour, like rowan jelly, then resolves as glazed greengage tart. Far in the background is a whiff of smoke and chocolate. The taste has surprisingly little sweetness or acidity for Strathmill gently drying in the finish. More fruity with a drop of water, with the tartness of gooseberries, and a slightly waxy texture.
