BenRiach ‘Latada’ 18 Year Old Peated Madeira Finish
$93.00 Availability: In StockThe BenRiach 18 Years Old Latada is an exceptional limited new expression from Speyside, and one of the heavily peated range. Matured in American white oak casks, this single malt whisky is finished in Madeira wine casks – matured for a total of 18 years. The name ‘Latada’ is in reference to the vine system on the Portuguese island of Madeira, where the grapevines are organised above ground level in a horizontal pattern. This expression was bottled at 46%, at a natural golden colour and is non chill filtered.
Peat smoke on the nose, combined with fresh pear and citrus fruits and honey. On the palate it reveals the fresh fruity syrup infused with sweet peat, and a little spice from oak and citrus prickle. This contributes to a long and warming finish

This BenRiach 10 Year Old marks a significant milestone – it is the first expression from the Benriach core range to be created predominantly from whiskies distilled at BenRiach since Billy Walker took over in 2004.
Natural tawny amber in colour from a mix of American and European oak casks, it has a fruity top-note (fresh apple, with a hint of powdered ginger) with a vanilla sponge base; these aromas are well translated by the taste, which is sweet overall, with light acidity, referencing peaches and lemon zest; a creamy texture and a long, warming finish.
BenRiach fans will not be disappointed with soft and rich notes coming to the fore. Typical sherry notes all also in the mix which all BenRiach fans will be truly excited about.

BenRiach Curiositas achieves a peat richness through the use of malted barley dried in the traditional way over peat infused kilns.Traditionalists believe that peated malts achieve optimum balance of peat-bittersweet and oak infusion after 10 years of maturation.
On the nose it is undoubtedly peaty, but there are fragrant hints of honey. On the palate, the expected smoke and peat flavour is followed by a complex mix of fruit, heather, nuts, oak wood and spices.
