From the Holyrood Distillery arrive this new expression, Height of Arrows. This is distilled by local whisky makers, who want the translate the whisky experience into gin. They believe in stripping back gin to its core essential, juniper, and only focusing on a select few botanicals. At 43% abv, this has surprising depth and complexity.

Expect juniper to shine, with a certain dryness in the palate accompanying beeswax, and a lingering note of sea salt in the finish.

The first batch and bottling of rum from the J. Gow Distillery from That Boutique-y Rum Company. Located up in Orkney, Scotland, this rum was matured in chestnut and virgin oak casks and bottled after 2 years. It uses 3 parts chestnut cask, and one part virgin oak. The former cask type makes this rum stand out, allowing for a more rapid maturation. This rum is sure to stand out, with a strong abv of 57.2% abv, and another intriguing graphic novel style label. This is a batch of 220 bottles and will be turning eyes northward for first-rate, characterful rum from now on.

The nose gives aromas of clementine, herbaceous notes, sultanas and oaky tannins. The palate is trans-seasonal, giving hints of summer flowers, jam tarts, honey, as well as Christmas spices. The finish is rich, with splendid oaky spice, with a harmony of strong thyme and black tea. Splendid rum-making.

It is presented in a stylish gift box, with each bottle numbered. It comes at a level-headed 46% abv, and oozes with style.
