Released as a part of That Boutique-y Rum Company’s Cinema Labels collection, this 14-year-old pot still rum was distilled at Tencane distillery in Trinidad & Tobago, before finding its way to the UK. Presented at a robust 60.4% abv. The label is inspired by 1940’s era Black and White film Noir, to reflect the mysterious storied history of this cask:  “The Case of the Mysterious Maturation”. 

On the nose, we find figs, prunes, and a honeycomb sweetness that rubs up against tobacco and leather, rich bourbon vanilla and a hint of pimento. The palate is sweet and jammy, with blackberries, tamarind and under ripe pineapple flavours. A warming finish follows, bringing lots of tannic, toasty oak and dried hazelnuts.

Steeped in English wheat spirit and water from the River Derwent before being distilled for 8 hours in ‘Chemmy’, the distillery’s handmade copper pot still, the result is an incredibly smooth gin.The nose is fresh and fruity with some citrus lemon notes. The palate is clean and smooth with a fresh, crisp finish. Best enjoyed neat over ice or with a tonic of choice.
