Description
Limited to just 60 decanters worldwide, this Highland single malt from Loch Lomond distillery has been quietly maturing in Alexandria for more than half a decade. Distilled in 1967, just two years after the distillery began production, and filled to a single American oak hogshead before being finished in a European oak hogshead. Filled to hand-blown crystal decanters at a strength of 46.2% abv, and presented in beautifully carved oak “Tempest Chests” created by ‘architects of objects’, Method Studio of Linlithgow, alongside a turned brass vial sample glass. The nose is profound and complex, notes of sandalwood mingling with cloves, allspice, tropical fruits and Scottish tablet. The palate is sweet with subtle traces of stem ginger and grapefruit, before a lightly smoky finish.
