The Ardnamurchan Madeira Cask Release comes from a distillery known for its dedication to crafting exceptional single malts on the rugged Scottish west coast, where they combine traditional methods with innovative techniques. Bottled at 52% ABV, this whisky comes in a beautifully embossed clear glass bottle made from 54% recycled glass.

On the nose, is a blend of stewed fruits and sugared nuts, while the palate reveals depths of cooking spices, cedar wood and toffee. The medium finish is long and dry. A truly masterful release!

A new release for 2025, the Ardnamurchan AD/Mezcal Cask Release is a fantastic dram full of new and exciting flavours. The liquid, peated to 30ppm, was laid down in bourbon barrels in 2017, before being finished for the last 20 months in ex-Mezcal barrels.

Bottled at 55% ABV, the 20 barrels of liquid yielded 4,968 bottles, all full of coastal and heathery peat smoke character, intertwines with the saline, vegetal traits of the ex-Mezcal casks.

This Ardnamurchan Sauternes Cask 2025 Release is an exciting release from the much-loved Ardnamurchan distillery, bottled at 50% abv. Aged in ex-Bourbon casks, and re-racked into ex-Sauternes barriques. 

On the nose, expect lime leaf, lemon balm,shortbread, hay bales, with further hints of pineapple upside-downcake, desiccated coconut, crème de pêche. The palate is filled with nutmeg, dried ginger, orange blossom water, smoked manuka honey, lemon meringue pie, and salted cashew nuts. The finish is spicy, punchy, and bright. 

A part of Ardnamurchan distillery’s 2024 bottlings, this AD Sherry Cask Release is a gorgeously rich and decadent dram. The expression has been made from both peated and unpeated barley, and matured in a combination of first fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks before being bottled at 50% abv. 

Expect aromas of cherries and roasted almond, which lead to lashings of dried fruits on the mouth-coating palate. Touches of caramel, toasted oak and earthy peat follow, and linger on into the finish. 

Hailing from Ardnamurchan distillery in the Western Highlands, this 2023 release has been bottled at a cask strength of 58.1% abv. Made with mostly peated barley, and matured within majority bourbon casks and a small selection of sherry casks, the expression is presented free from chill filtration and at natural colour. 

Expect aromas of maritime peat smoke, lemon zest and creamy vanilla, before a palate of coastal peat, apples and pears, warming oak and gentle black pepper spice. The finish lingers with more peat and a subtle seaweed-esque salinity. 

Returning after the roaring success of this release’s previous incarnations, Ardnamurchan’s Paul Launois gives classic Highland single malt a twist with their Champagne cask recipe. This bottling was distilled in 2017, and matured for close to nine years before recieving it’s signature finish in e Champagne barriques from Paul Launois. The result is an unpeated liquid bottled at 57.4% abv, with a lovely, balanced character.

On the nose, expect orchard fruits. buttery honied pastries, and a subtle citrus twist. The palate is tangy with further citrus fruits, balanced by gentle spice. The finish sugary, salty, and fresh. 

A whisky in which provenance plays a central role, this 2025 release of the Arran Barley Edition liquid is a 10 Year Old testament to the quality of local produce. The water used to craft this single malt was drawn from the waterfalls off Loch na Davie, and the malted barley was grown on the Isle of Arran itself at Bellevue Farm. The end result was matured in a selection of our 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels and 2nd Fill Sherry Hogsheads, to produce a simply wonderful whisky.

Bottled at 50% abv, you can expect a nose of fresh herbs, light citrus, and vanilla sweetness accompanied by a palate of oaky spice, ginger, and further citrus notes amplified by the oily mouthfeel of the liquid. Showcasing a wonderfully dry, medium finish, with notes of aniseed and spiced citrus lingering. 

Part of Arran Distillery’s ongoing strive toward creating only the finest single malts through as natural a process as possible, this hand-crafted dram is a limited-edition release using some of Arran’s most rare casks and liquids in a harmonious marriage of flavour.

The barley used in this bottling was peated to 20ppm and aged exclusively in ex-Oloroso sherry butts from the Jerez region of Spain, where exceptional sherry has been produced for decades. These sherry casks were carefully selected to impart as much flavour as possible into the smoky liquid contained within them and were given a full 15 years in which to do it, resulting in a 54.4% abv expression with deliciously sweet and smoky notes. 

An impressive single cask Arran 1996, matured for 26 years in Lochranza on the lush Isle of Arran. Bottled at 48.5%, with natural colour and free from chill filtration.

Certainly one of the oldest Arran single malts ever released, there are only 247 bottles made – exclusive to The Whisky Shop.  

Expect complex dark fruit flavours from the outset. The whisky develops into something truly remarkable with indulgent notes of soft caramel, exotic spices, orchard fruits and polished oak. The finish is long and lingering and includes notes of figs, brown sugar and dark chocolate.

An exceptional new edition to Arran’s core range of single malts. This expression has matured in sherry butts to create an exceptionally sweet and refined dram. This is the oldest release in Arran’s core range to date. An exceptional single malt that is free from both artificial colouring and chill filtration.

Expect aromas of hazelnut praline, baking spices, and cinnamon sugar on the nose. The palate brings cocoa, candied ginger, and marmalade before leading into a sweet finish full of citrus zest with some peppery spice appearing at the close.
