Highland Park is the most northernly single malt whisky distillery in Scotland, and is closer to Oslo than it is to London. They use a local peat, which has a high heather proportion in the distilling process. The peat comes from Hobbister Moor, 7 miles from the distillery, which burns slowly and intensely to create a floral heather aroma in the kilns. The distillation process has remained largely unchanged in its 200-year history.
The name Highland Park does not refer to the Scottish Highlands, but rather to the area on which the distillery was founded which was known as ‘High Park’.

We have teamed up with the innovative new whisky distillery InchDairnie ahead of the release of their new Sample Room Range, launching exclusively with The Whisky Shop. We will be joined on the night by Distillery Manager Scott Sneddon who will guide us through the new range and all things InchDairnie.Â
Following the successful launch of RyeLaw Fife Single Grain Scotch Whisky in April 2023, the cutting-edge InchDairnie Distillery has now released a limited-edition collection, the Sample Room Range. Specifically created to challenge Scotch whisky conventions and showcase the experimentation that takes place at the distillery in the Kingdom of Fife.Â
InchDairnie Distillery pushes the boundaries of flavour through their 3 Ms philosophy: materials, method and maturation. They extract as much flavour as possible through innovative and sustainable means, in their base of Kinglassie, Fife, where industrial Scotland meets agricultural Scotland. Each release will use a unique mashbill, with all cereals sourced exclusively in Scotland, which are then ground into a fine powder using a special hammer mill and matured in a variety of specially-sourced casks – especially fresh American oak.

Digital Drams: Lagavulin The King of Islay Virtual Tasting
$25.00 Availability: In StockFebruary’s Digital Drams takes us back to Islay. Brand Ambassador, Charlotte Barker, will take us through the whisky that has been described as the ‘King of Islay’ – the magnificent Lagavulin.

$20.00 Availability: In StockWe are very excited to have Laphroaig as the featured distillery for our next Digital Drams. At 7.30pm, on the 15th of February, we will be joined by David Miles to explore this iconic brand; with the tasting featuring the new Laphroaig Elements 1.0.
One thing is certain about Laphroaig single malt: no drinker is indifferent to it. Some are bewildered by its appeal, and others love its unapologetically full-on peaty, medicinal charms. If you discover that you belong to the latter category, this can quickly become a go-to dram of choice.
The new ‘Elements’ collection celebrates innovation and creativity in whisky making, and heralds a new era of experimentation with mashing and fermentation. Fermented for 55 hours in two sizes of mash tun and with two types of wort, cloudy and semi-cloudy, before a maturation in bourbon casks. Bottled at 58.6% abv.

Digital Drams: Loch Lomond 2025
$20.00 Availability: In StockJoin us this March as we catch up with our friends at Loch Lomond to once again do a metaphorical back 9 with Andy Jack on the 20th of March at 7.30pm. Loch Lomond Whisky is the official spirit of The Open Golf Championship. Two of the new Open Championship bottlings will be featured on this tasting, along with the excellent 16 Year Old Waypoint Series Falls of Falloch.
The uniqueness of Loch Lomond’s pot stills rest in the cylindrical necks of the spirit stills. Traditionally the necks of malt stills are open. The Loch Lomond stills include special distillation trays in the necks, allowing for greater contact with the cooling alcohol vapour. It is the only distillery in Scotland to produce both malt and grain whisky on the same site. It produces about 10 million litres of grain whisky and 2.5 million litres of single malt whisky per year.

Digital Drams: Nc’nean Single Malt Scotch
$20.00 Availability: In StockWhat an exciting way to spend a summer’s day! After two trips to America, we’re back on Scottish soil as we visit West Coast trailblazers Nc’nean. We’re very excited to be joined by Founder Annabel Thomas for this tasting (it’ll certainly be one to join live!). The event will take place on Thursday 8th August at the usual start time of 7:30pm.
Founder Annabel Thomas started Nc’nean to change the way the world thinks about whisky from Scotland. Her mission was to create a whisky which could exist in harmony with this planet we call home. After leaving her job in London in 2013, she spent four years raising funds and building the distillery from the ground up on the west coast of Scotland. In 2017, Nc’nean started distilling their very own organic whisky, and in 2020 their first bottle was released.
Located in the village of Drimnin on the Morvern peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland, Nc’nean is an independent whisky distillery that is powered by 100% renewable energy. They exist to create experimental, organic spirits and to pioneer sustainable production.

As the only luxury rum from Asia, Phraya Rum sits among the finest rum in the world by using only carefully selected top-quality rums. Produced in the Kingdom of Thailand, Phraya undergoes a deep maturation technique specially developed in accordance with Southeast Asian climate drawing out an exciting exotic taste for the palate. Drawing on the four elements (Earth, Water, Fire and Air), the style of this rum is as rich as the history and culture of its country of origin.
Prakaan Single Malt Whisky is crafted at Prakaan Distillery in the province of Kamphaeng Phet, which sits within Thailand’s northerly Western Forest Complex – part of a vast, unspoiled UNESCO World heritage site. Our last tasting with Talisker was in May 2022, but this year’s line-up is even more star-studded! Featuring five drams including the Talisker 25 Year Old. The event will kick off at 7.30pm on Thursday, December 14th.
Talisker is one of the distillery’s that is synonymous with its location. This storm-battered, robust island has its spirit embodied in this whisky. There are still crofters’ holdings around Talisker distillery, and the village of Carbost continues to be filled with ‘life and motion’. This is largely thanks to the fact that Talisker and its visitor centre is now a major tourist attraction and owner Diageo’s most-visited distillery. Considering the effort that it takes to get to this remote western part of Skye, that is in itself quite an achievement.
Each pack will contain 5 x 3cl samples of:
- Talisker 10 Year Old
- Talisker Port Ruighe
- Talisker 8 Year Old Diageo Special Release 2021
- Talisker Special Release 2023
- Talisker 25 Year Old

The event is on a Monday, rather than our usual Thursday, and will feature a Distillery Exclusive Singleton of Glen Ord ‘Celebratory Edition’. We will also be giving away some bottles on the night, so make sure to join us live!
The Singleton is about smoothness, and making first-rate single malt whisky with a quality that experts call ‘welcoming’. The brand rose in the late 19th century, united by a single vision to create fantastic single malt whiskies.

$25.00 Availability: In StockWe at the W Club are very excited to be returning to the Isle of Mull on the 20th of July as we revisit the Tobermory Distillery with two Tobermory releases and three from Ledaig.
Established in 1798, Tobermory distillery is situated in the heart of the Hebridean capital of the Isle of Mull. The distillery produces two types of single malt: unpeated Tobermory whisky for 6 months of the year and peated Ledaig whisky for the other 6 months.Â

Dimensions Auchindoun Sherry Cask 2008 13 Year Old
$93.00 Availability: In StockThe Dimensions range by independent bottlers Duncan Taylor is focussed on showing the multi-dimensional nature of distilleries both well-known and unheard of. This is no exception. This Auchindoun 13 Year Old Sherry Cask was distilled at the Auchindoun Distillery, which mysteriously keeps its specific location in Speyside a secret. Aged for 13 years in ex-sherry oak casks, this was bottled at a cask strength 55.4% in April 2021. A single cask expression, only 191 bottles of this were produced.
The nose gives subtle aromas of sweet vanilla, caramel and a nutiness. The palate is imbued with hints of toasted oak, dark cherries and figs. The finish is medium-long, and gives pleasing notes of tropical fruits, and oatcakes.Â

Dimensions Benriach 2008 12 Year Old
$97.00 Availability: In StockFrom all the way back in 2008 arrives this splendid Speyside whisky from the Benriach Distillery. This single cask malt was distilled in 2008 and has been in a deep sleep for 12 years in oak casks, before being bottled in March 2021 by independent bottlers Duncan Taylor. This was bottled at cask strength at 54.7% abv, and is free from both chill filtration and artificial colouring.Only 304 bottles of this expression are available, so get your hands on one of these quickly before they all go!
The nose gives off subtle hints of macerated fruit, crème freche, and vanilla fudge. On the palate one can find wood spice, wafts of cinnamon, apricots and barley. This culminates in a medium finish, with notes of caramelised biscuits, toasted oak, and oatcakes. Â
