Matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, the rare 19-year-old Islay malt is produced in small batches and bottled at 46.2% abv.
Wafts of olive oil on the nose, with aromas of tar and soot which mingle with chocolate ginger biscuits and fresh cut grass. A slightly oily and mouthcoating palate brings an intense hit of sweet mint, followed by classic Ardbeg creosote, coal tar soap, and a hint of smoked pineapple and dark chocolate. Peppermint creams, bonfire embers, and camphor notes lead to a lingering finish of coffee and liquorice.
