    Drawn and fully matured in Madeira Hogshead cask #1328, the liquid which was distilled in 2013 at 51.6% ABV, is limited to just 318 bottles!

    The nose opens with the bold medicinal peat smoke that is so characteristically Laphroaig, before easing into a sweeter space full of dried figs, stewed berries and sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is rich and oily, where Laphroaig’s hallmark iodine and bonfire smoke meet the warming sweetness of the Madeira cask, revealing dark honey, clove and baked apple in full, rounded layers. The finish is long, leaving glowing peat embers softened by a delicate sea-spray note.

    Sweet honey, thyme, and pear drop aromas arrive on the nose. Herbaceous, smoky, honey notes arrive on the palate, alongside black pepper, spices, clementine zest and medicinal notes. The finish is dry, with a vein of sea salt and a zing of spring flowers.

    Presenting Laphroaig 30 Year Old 2024 release, a stunning dram from the Islay icons. The whisky has been matured in a variety of specially selected American oak barrels, and European oak ex-sherry hogsheads and butts for three decades, before being bottled at 45.8% abv.

    The nose is fruity and sweet initially, with very distinctive top notes of zesty orange and lemon peel, vanilla custard and treacle toffee. More delicate background notes are revealed on the palate, such as bergamot, sweet pastries and fresh thyme, which lead to a finish of smouldering peat smoke and sooty campfire notes.

    This 30-year-old single malt is the first release in The Ian Hunter Story from Islay’s Laphroaig distillery. The story is a fifteen-part series of rare aged single malts, celebrating chapters in the life of Ian Hunter, the last member of the distillery’s founding family to own and manage Laphroaig. Hunter took the helm of the distillery in 1908 and was responsible for launching Laphroaig as a single malt. This series commemorates Hunter’s influence and celebrates the unique spirit that he helped create. This 2019 release is aged for thirty years in first-fill American white oak bourbon barrels and bottled at a strength of 46.7% abv free from chill filtration, with just 4,800 bottles produced.

    ‘In life itself we develop so many layers and changes that ultimately shape us all. The feeling I have with this whisky is that it has been on an amazing journey and that we should now savour its glory!!
    ‘Peat reek, manuka honey, stewed fruits, vanilla pods and signature floral notes. A coastal finish with iodine, seaweed and white pepper. Ian Hunter completed the Laphroaig recipe by adding maturation in ex-bourbon barrels. This whisky is a timeless and signature Laphroaig that Ian Hunter would savour himself.’

    This 30-year-old single malt is the second chapter in The Ian Hunter Story from Islay’s Laphroaig distillery.     The second book of the story starts with Warehouse No.1. With the different cask types being brought by Ian Hunter, including ex-bourbon barrels and sherry cask, Ian recognised the need for more capacity to house them. Ian selected the location by the Atlantic shore that would have its influence on the casks, and planned a five-phased extension between 1910 and 1924.

    This 2020 release is aged for thirty years in Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry oak barrels and bottled at a strength of 48.2% abv free from chill-filtration.

    The nose has dried dates and figs, with notes of toffee and dark chocolate underscored by liquorice and medicinal flavours. Adding water brings out pipe tobacco and orange peel. The smoke continues in the palate, although the presence of manuka honey adds a lovely sweetness to the mouthfeel before a long and drying finish.

The first in the collection is this rare cask strength 36-year-old bottling, in which their peaty style is perfectly balanced from maturation first in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then resting in a second fill Oloroso hogshead. Presented in a hand-blown bottle inspired by green Islay sea glass, there are just 400 bottles released worldwide.

    The nose opens with honey, white peach and mango, which leads into a deeper creamy dark toffee, vanilla and cedar wood aroma. Hints of singed sage and liquorice root peak through, before a sweet orange and tropical fruits on the palate. On the finish the smoky Islay peat lingers in the mouth, and sea-salt is brought out on the lips.

    The first release in the iconic Islay distillery’s brand new Wall Collection, this 36-year-old puts the very lifeblood of Laphroaig’s character front and centre. ‘Peat’ was finished in a heavily peated cask which has reintroduced prominent smoky notes that often take a back seat as the spirit ages. A limited release of only 200, each bottle has been hand painted by London illustrator Laura Carlin with the exact paint from Warehouse No.1, and raised on a display plinth.  

    The nose is fruity, with notes of passionfruit, strawberries and sultanas which intermingle with soft leather and cinnamon. On the palate, flavours of zesty orange peel, pineapple, runny honey, vanilla and custard tart lead to a smooth finish of lingering signature peat.

Still-maturing whisky from their standard ex-bourbon barrels is transferred to quarter casks and left to rest in our warehouse just a short distance away from the Atlantic ocean.The innovative use of the smaller cask size, allows for an increased contact with the oak, creating a rich and smooth edge to complement Laphroaig’s distinctive peatiness.
