The collection celebrates innovation and creativity in whisky making, and heralds a new era of experimentation with mashing and fermentation. Fermented for 55 hours in two sizes of mash tun and with two types of wort, cloudy and semi-cloudy, before a maturation in bourbon casks. Bottled at 58.6% abv.
This experimental Laphroaig boasts aromas of smoky bacon, woody bonfire embers, and hints of charred strawberry and pineapple, before a spicy and peppery palate. Tropical fruits, winter cloves and liquorice flavours lead to a long and warming finish full of smoke and peat.Â

Laphroaig Elements 2.0
$177.00 Availability: In StockPresenting the second edition of Laphroaig Elements, a series exploring the ways the distillery can engineer different flavours prior to maturation. Distilled during a particularly frosty January, Elements 2.0 takes fermentation beyond Laphroaig’s standard of 55 hours by experimenting with of a range of longer fermentations, all the way up to 115 hours. The Islay dram is bottled at a cask strength of 59.6% abv.
The result is a particularly intense flavour profile, with a fruity nose of apple, vanilla, orange peel and subtle peat. On the palate, notes of green apple, runny honey, cream soda and smouldering bonfire and smoked seafood lead to a sweet finish of building warm smoke.

Laphroaig Quarter Cask

After a period of aging in standard bourbon barrels, the whisky is transferred to quarter casks and left to rest just a short distance away from the Atlantic ocean. The innovative use of the smaller cask size, allows for an increased contact with the oak, creating a rich and smooth edge to complement Laphroaig’s distinctive peatiness.
The nose opens with smouldering peat, coconut and banana notes, before leading to a deep and complex palate of sweet smoke. The finish is really long and drying, with touches of spice.

Laphroaig Select

The whisky has been aged in a combination of Oloroso sherry butts, American white oak, Pedro Ximenez Hogsheads, quarter casks and first fill bourbon casks. This results in a slightly less powerful variation of the Islay classic, offering a great introduction to these punchy peaty whiskies.
Typically peaty on the nose, with hints of chocolate and citrus. This leads to a peaty taste, but less so than expected, allowing notes of apples and citrus to shine through, with a little spice on the tongue. The finish is medium length, with peat remaining until the end.

This ultra-limited release, just 200 bottles worldwide, is encased in a bespoke, hand-painted bottle by British artist Laura Carlin. Matured in Oloroso sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads and finished in Pedro Ximénez butts, the whisky offers rich layers.
On the nose expect toffee, cranberry and dark red cherry. Polished leather, sweet molasses and mandarin orange. The palate presents gentle smokiness with notes of treacle toffee, candied orange peel and hazelnut. The finish is long and smooth with smoked orange toffee, oak and mixed spice.

The expression was matured for five years in an ex-Bourbon barrel. On the bottle, the deadly animal chosen to represent Launceton is Australian cricket captain, Ricky Ponting. He stands alongside the distillery’s resident dog, Angus the Westie, interviewing a Tasmanian Devil for a job whisky making. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 62.6% abv.
Expect aromas of custard creams, green banana and pineapple, leading to a palate of ripe banana, caramel and a spicy, herbal note.
