    This Jura single malt whisky leads on from Jura’s 200th anniversary edition, and has been well aged for 21 years and presented in a box with a display plinth. Bottled in honour of the date the distillery was founded in 1810, the vintage casks used give this whisky a fantastic quality – this is now a discontinued expression.

    The fragrant nose is full of notes of toffee, vanilla and fudge. There are honeyed tones and on tasting, Christmas cake, and stewed fruits with winter spices really shine through. The finish is of medium-length with a touch of dry oak.

    Part of the aged vintage series Time & Tide, this 21-year-old Island single malt has been distilled at Jura’s eponymous distillery off the west coast of Scotland. Matured first in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finessed in hand-selected virgin American white oak casks, this expression is bottled at 46.7% abv free from chill filtration.

    The nose is sweet and fruity with lemon cake, caramel, pear, grapefruit and overripe bananas. The palate brings sweet macaroon, allspice, gingerbread, white chocolate and lemon curd, before a smoked coconut note and marzipan in the long and lingering finish.

Presented at a natural cask strength, this non chill-filtered Island Single Malt has a natural mahogany honeyed gold colour. The nose offers freshly baked bread, moist walnut cake, over-ripe pineapple and vanilla with a whisper of bitter chocolate, coffee and tangy macaroons. The palate is rich in ginger, cassis, frangipane and caramelised peaches. Glazed nectarines, pears in red wine, muscovado and soft cranberry notes follow, while the finish brings Turkish delight, coffee, fig syrup and cherry cake.

Bottled at a strength of 52.5% abv, free from chill-filtration and colouring. The nose has sweet mango and pear with honey and vanilla influences. The palate brings white chocolate, almond, caramel and fudge cake.

    Released to mark the Jura open day at the 2017 Islay Festival of Music and Malt, this limited edition from the eponymous Island distillery marries some of the finest aged spirits in the Jura warehouse, enhanced in first-fill American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and hand-selected Graham’s Port pipes from the Douro Valley region of Portugal. Each bottle is uniquely numbered, free from chill-filtration and bottled at a natural strength of 51% abv.Crimson mahogany flashes in an amber gold liquid. The nose has rich Black Forest fruits, liquorice whips, ripe plums and delicious white chocolate. The palate is reminiscent of a slice of walnut cake with glazed pineapple, orange zest and crème de cassis.

    This Island single malt was distilled at the eponymous Jura distillery, the only distillery on the Hebridean island. This expression has been matured in American white oak bourbon barrels and enhanced in hand-selected sherry casks that previously held a 30-year-old Pedro Ximenez sherry from a single estate Jerez bodega. Part of the Travel Retail exclusive range, The Loch is named for the distillery’s water source, Market Loch, which sits 1000 feet above sea level.

    A small portion of peated malt lends a subtle smoke to the sweet bourbon cask influence and the richness of the PX casks. It opens rich and sweet with thick treacle on the nose. The palate brings praline and baked apple with a touch of coffee, before a fruity note in the spicy finish.

    The first release in the Two-One-Two series of annual limited editions, this Island single malt was distilled at Jura in 2006 and matured for 13 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in casks made from Chinkapin oak, a type of wood native to east and central North America. This series celebrates the Jura community of around 212 islanders.

    The nose is sweet with lemon drizzle cake, cinnamon spice and creamy toffee. The palate has stewed fruits and sweet sherbet with notes of pear and roast pistachio, before a long and satisfying finish.

    Distilled in 1981, this 31-year-old single cask expression hails from the now-closed Karuizawa distillery. This incredibly rare whisky was bottled at a robust 60.5% abv.

    On the nose, there is petrichor, black cherry, and liquorice, complemented by subtler notes of nectarine. The palate has sweet vanilla, juicy mango, and chilli pepper with plenty of fresh floral hints. The finish is long and aromatic with dark chocolate, raisins, and barbecue smoke all present at the close.

It was decanted in 2014, into only 279 bottles and made exclusive to Japan’s market. The single cask collection features different Noh masks, from Japanese traditional performing arts. This design features the mask of Ko-Omote, the youngest woman represented in the tradition.

    Karuizawa distillery crafted whisky on the southern slopes of Mount Asama from 1955 to its closure in 2001, however, indepedent bottler Number One Drinks have since released precious single malts from their warehouse. It has become one of the most sought-after single malts in the world, especially as the stock continues to wear thin.

    Karuizawa distillery was founded in 1955 where the distillery was 850m above sea level making it the highest in Japan. It was then, unfortunately, mothballed in 2000, with it later being completely demolished in 2016.

    This expression was distilled in 1984 and matured for nearly three decades in an Oloroso sherry butt and was bottled at cask strength free from chill filtration and colouring in 2014 for the Norweigan and Swedish markets.

    On the nose, there is wood polish, mint, pine needles, and currants alongside a surprising meaty note. The sherry influence is clear in the palate which is full of garden herbs, toasted oak, and raisins.  The finish is peppery and sweet.

    A golden goose for collectors, expressions from the demolished Karuizawa distillery are famously rare. The distillery was located high up amongst misty mountains, on the slopes of an active volcano with an astonishingly pure water source and a climate perfect for high-alcohol content maturation. Produced from single sherry cask #7550, this limited bottling was distilled in 2000, just before the distillery halted whisky production, and bottled in 2018 – yeilding only 514 bottles.
