  • Rosebank 30 Year Old

    Rosebank 30 Year Old

    $2,500.00 Availability: In Stock

The history of Rosebank distillery in the town of Falirk dates all the way back to 1840. But with the global fall in sales of whisky during the nineties the distillery had to be mothballed and reduced in more recent years to a derelict site of crumbling buildings. Since 2017, Ian Macleod Distillers have been reviving the Rosebank legacy, releasing whisky that was stored from before the closure in preperation for the release of the first ‘new’ Rosebank whisky.

This Rosebank 30 Year Old is matured in refill sherry butts and bourbon hogsheads as a first release of this annual expression in a limited run of 4,350 bottles. The spirit is triple distilled, left free from chill filtration and bottled with an ABV of 48.6%. On the nose are creamy floral notes with caramel wafer and fresh citrus. The palate is delicate and crisp, with a lovely balance of oak spice and a lingering finish of violet, orange and gentle mint.

Royal Lochnagar 16 Year Old Diageo Special Release 2021

    $208.00 Availability: In Stock

Sunlight in a bottle. A rich, vivid Scotch that will remind you about the pleasures of springtime. A deep golden colour, this Royal Lochnagar 16 Year Old is a regal dram in many ways. It underwent a dual maturation process, between American oak and European oak refill casks. The Highland dram is presented at a hearty 57.5% abv, and is cask strength (which means no artificial colouring, or chill filtration).

The horse on the front of the bottle is somewhat less bold on the nose, with subtle hints of fruity, zesty, puff-pastry aromas. The palate is where the horse kicks on, delivering a creamy texture that rolls across, developing with fruity acidity and a quick oaky dryness. The finish is wonderful, with lingering pepper in a toasted oak aftertaste.

    Scapa 16 Year Old

    $88.00 Availability: In Stock

Few locations are quite as magical as the Orkney Isles. Located at the point where the Atlantic meets the North Sea, it is an archipelago of 70 islands with a history dating back to 8000BC.

Scapa is one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries and dates back to 1885. It is one of the most northerly Scotch Whisky distilleries. Despite the slightly daunting remoteness of the location, founding Speyside duo Macfarlane and Townsend were intrigued by the potential to create small batch malt Scotch Whisky of great character and personality, harnessing Orkney’s endless summer evenings and the entrepreneurial and hard-working reputation of its people.

This beguiling whisky evokes the beauty of Orkney, with the softer side of the island reflected in the bright, sweet, silky smooth liquid, and the lightest whisper of the seas testifying to its unique provenance.

What we do know is that it is a single malt whisky launched for Fèis Ìle 2019 and is bottled at the strength of 46% and without colouring or chill filtration.

Peat smoke and sea salt aromas arrive on the nose, leading into notes of warming leather, stewed rhubarb, and a wonderful vanilla sweetness on the palate. The finish is rich and lingering.

  • Scarabus Islay Single Malt Batch Strength

Scarabus Islay Single Malt Batch Strength

    $41.50 Availability: In Stock

Inspired by an alchemy of craft and cask, time, sea, and air. This is a batch strength edition of Scarabus’ single malt whisky. Offering all the same peat, sea air freshness and vanilla sweetness of the standard release but with these notes enhanced a little. Just like the original, this is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring. It is presented at 57% abv, slightly higher than the original Scarabus, the mystery single malt.

The tasting notes for these are a little different to the original. The finish is long lasting, with ashy, smoky notes coming to the forefront. One to savour.
