Bunnahabhain 1988 Marsala Cask Finish
$460.00 Availability: In StockThis 30-year-old single malt was distilled at Islya’s Bunnahbhain distillery on 1st December 1988. Matured for three decades, it was transferred to four Marsala wine hogsheads on 7th July 2016 and matured for a further two years. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 47.4% abv, free from chill filtration and artificial colouring, just 1,116 bottles have been filled.
The nose is rich and fruity with honeyed nuts and berries, floral aspects and a touch of candied fruit. The palate is well-rounded with notes of rich oak, honeyed nuts, dark chocolate and sweet grape, alongside vanilla, caramel and a subtle wood spice, before a long and lingering fruity finish.

Bunnahabhain 1997 Moine
$380.00 Availability: In StockPronounced ‘moy-n’yuh’, meaning ‘peated’ in Gaelic, this limited edition release from Bunnahabhain offers added peat to the more commonly unpeated whisky of the Islay distillery. Moine PX was distilled in September 1997 and matured initially in traditional oak whisky casks for 19 years, before being transferred to PX casks in March 2016. Just 1661 bottles were produced, all at a cask strength of 50% ABV and without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The nose is rich in sultanas, figs and dried fruit, followed by a burst of sweet berries. Roasted nuts and fig rolls develop in the palate, alongside a sweet mouthfeel of vanilla and caramel; a layered character, with light and fruity flavours developing into a pleasing, peppery smoke finish.

Bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.5% abv, this expression is free from any chill filtration or artificial colouring. Just 2,764 bottles are available worldwide.
The nose has rich roast chestnut and toffee apple, with grape and dried fruit hints. The palate brings sweet dried fruits and toasted oak with sweet malty aspects and salted caramel, before a long and fruity finish.

Bunnahabhain 2008 Manzanilla Cask
$163.00 Availability: In StockThis unique release from Bunnahabhain oversees the marriage of coastal-infused flavours, with every drop of the liquid matured in former Manzanilla sherry casks back in July 2008. After a full 11 years, the outturn was just 9429 bottles – all arriving at a natural casks strength of 52.3% ABV, and all free from chill-filtration and added colouring.
The nose is sweet with salted caramel, honeyed cashew nuts, creamy berries and rich oak. The palate has a sweet maltiness and toffee flavour, alongside figs and dried fruit which continue in the finish with a burst of more caramel.

Bunnahabhain 25 Year Old

Bunnahabhain is quite distinct from the other Islay single malts – firstly, it is created using unpeated malted barley in a time-honoured distillation process and secondly, this isolated coastal sanctuary takes advantage of the pure spring water that flows freely underground away from the peaty moorlands.
This 25 year old expression adds sweet and spicy notes to the “fruit and nut” signature style of Bunnahabhain.

This cask strength dram is a finely balanced harmony between spirits originating from port finished Bunnahabhain and sherry matured Bunnahabhain. After the maturation process, these two spirits are brought together and interwoven to create this one-of-a-kind expression. Only 14,088 bottles have been produced, and all are free from chill filtration. It has a natural deep auburn colour, and is presented at a hearty 56.2% abv.
Creamy vanilla, red berries, caramel, and brandy butter arrive on the nose, before red fruits, cinnamon spice, nuts, and sea salt come through on the palate. The finish is long and with a fading chilli spice, with supple hints of chocolate, confectionary and fruit, with an echo of sea salt.

Bunnahabhain Ceòbanach
$58.00 Availability: In StockBunnahabhain Ceòbanach (which we’re told means “smoky mist”) is, unusually, a peated expression from one of Islay’s few (typically) unpeated distilleries. A small batch release, with the peatiness harking back to Bunnahabhain of the 1800s. Although there is no age statement on the bottle, we hear that this has been matured in ex-bourbon casks for around ten years and, as with all Bunnahabhain, is bottled non chill-filtered, to retain the oily character along with the wonderful harmony of flavours.The nose is intensely pungent and phenolic, with fragrant smoke, light tar, sweet oak and seaweed. The palate brings a sweet maltiness, then a lovely balance of tangy smoke and vanilla. Mellow and smooth, white pepper, bitter orange, liquorice and sea salt emerge, before a peppery sweet smoke and oatcakes in the lingering finish. -

On the nose, expect to find the coastal influence of Caol Ila’s distillery at work.
Sea salt salinity, peppermint tea, burnt cedar and ginger harmonise together on the nose. Liquorice, distinctive Caol Ila peat, fruitcake and almonds can be found on the palate. The finish is weighty, and gives subtle sweet notes.

Distilled in 1998 and matured in ex-bourbon first fill American Oak casks.
Pale gold; considerable nose-prickle, and a maritime top note – a fresh sea breeze, with scents of machair flowers. Behind this is a very light cereal note (Swedish crisp-bread, becoming vanilla sponge) and a hint of lemon. A smooth and creamy texture and a surprisingly sweet taste, with light saltiness and chilli pepper. Lively clean and warming, with traces of dark chocolate and juniper in the aftertaste.
