The Macallan 30 Year Old Double Cask 2023 release is a distinguished Scotch single malt, matured in a carefully selected combination of American and European oak casks. These casks were carefully selected and sourced from Kentucky, northern Spain, and the French Pyrenees to show reflect the Macallan’s decades of cask expertise and craftsmanship.

Bottled at 43% abv, this dram offers a rich bouquet of honeycomb and red apple on the nose, with a palate of sugar and spice, finishing with sweet oak, soft spice, and toffee for a perfectly balanced dram.

The highly-sought after Macallan 30 was exclusively matured in Oloroso sherry casks from Spain for three decades, and presented at 43% abv. The iconic Speyside distillery bottled this expression in 2021for a limited edition release.

Expect rich sherried notes on the nose, along with orange peel, clove and charred oak. The palate is a smooth one, with flavours of dried fruit, orange and a touch of smoke. On the close, the flavours of orange and spice linger on beautifully.

The exceptional Macallan Sherry Oak 30 Years Old is released yearly as part of the distillery’s Sherry Oak range which features a series of single malt whiskies matured in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez. This is the deepest and richest expression in the range, benefitting greatly from a three decade slumber. Bottled at 43% abv and presented in a sleek box.

On the nose we find aromas of sherry, citrus, nutmeg and wood smoke, leading to a palate full of dried fruit, orange peel and more smoke. The finish is long and rich, with more spiced orange notes. Think of pomander balls, and a freshly pokered wooden plaque.
