This series is designed to showcase exceptional Islay Whisky that reflects the rugged, dramatic coastline and history of the island. It is a 2008 vintage, that was bottled in 2021, coming it at a cask strength 50.1% abv. It is free from chill-filtration and has a natural, cask-imparted colour.
On the nose is porridge, sweet honey, pinecones, and a little dried spice. The palate is one of nutty, oaky sweetness. The finish is luxuriously long, with salted caramel, toasted cedar, and walnut whip. Get your hands on this limited release whilst you can.

Chichibu Distillery II

Distillation at Chichibu takes place in direct-fired stills, with fermentation carried out in French oak vessels, resulting in a distinctive depth and texture. This liquid was matured for between four and five years in a selection of casks, primarily ex-bourbon barrels, and captures the character and promise of the new distillery’s house style. Bottled at a robust 55.5% ABV, it delivers a beautifully rich and complex dram.
The nose opens with sweet notes of vanilla and caramel, laced with gentle peat smoke and roasted orchard fruits. On the palate, it’s velvety and honeyed, with layers of creamy custard, warming cinnamon and nutmeg, leading into a long finish defined by smoky barley and lingering spice.

The bold expression has been matured for five years in an ex-Apera wine cask. On the bottle, the notorious great white shark is the deadly animal chosen to represent Chief’s Son, depicted in the background of a cartoon of the founders’ Stuart and Naomi barbequing on the beach. They created their distillery in 2016 after a particularly inspiring visit to Scotland. Bottled at 52.1% abv.
Expect rich aromas of malt, smoke, cigars, toffee apples and liquorice, leading to a palate of mint toffee, stewed plums, oak spices and earthy peat. The finish is spicy, with a gentle whisper of smoke.
