Part of the Diageo Special Releases 2016 collection, this limited edition Single Grain Whisky was distilled in 1975 at the now closed Cambus distillery, near Alloa. The oldest release to date from the distillery, only 1,812 individually numbered bottles have been charged from refill American oak hogsheads.The nose is lively with fruity top notes of red apple, pineapple and gooseberry above strawberry chewy sweets, milk chocolate and toffee. The palate is light and drying with pine notes building in sweetness with salted caramel, pear drops and plum characteristics. The finish is short yet warm and gentle.

The Girvan Patent Still Single Grain Whisky is produced at the Girvan Distillery in the Lowlands, and the whisky is typically used in the creation of Grant’s blended Scotch, and sold to other blenders.

The 25 year old was the first whisky to be released in the Girvan Patent Still range, the first range of single grain Scotch whisky, and is a marriage of whiskies aged in first and second-fill Bourbon casks with some whisky aged in Sherrywood and virgin oak.

The term ‘Apps’ is distillery speak for ‘Apparatus’ referring to the continuous “patent” still number 4 that has been producing grain spirit at Girvan since 1992 usingvacuum distillation, amethod pioneered by owners William Grant’s.

This results in a very pure, clean tasting spirit that balances perfectly with the American oak used for maturation.

This single grain Scotch whisky was distilled in May 1995 at Invergordon and matured for 21 years in a single bourbon barrel. Bottled in April 2017 as part of The Sovereign range by respected independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. of Glasgow, this expression is presented at a natural cask strength of 49% abv.

The nose has intense vanilla and fruits, with pear and a hint of apple. The palate is smooth and honeyed with cereals and nuts. The finish is long and drying with nutty aspects and a pleasant pepper note.

The esteemed Duncan Taylor independent bottlers present this fine 1990 Invergordon single grain expression, matured for an impressive 32 years exclusively in a single sherry cask. This spectacular Highland whisky is one of only 330 bottles, making it a limited edition. Presented at 48.1% abv.

Expect a nose full of chocolate digestives, dried fruit and woody notes, leading to a palate of sweet vanilla bean, red berries, rich oak and a hint of spice. The finish is a fruity one, with a touch of cocoa on the close.

Distilled using 100% malted barley in Loch Lomond’s bespoke all copper construction, Continuous “Coffey” still, Master Blender Michael Henry has carefully selected some of these older whiskies in the warehouse, and lovingly finished them in rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks. They were carefully constructed by Loch Lomond’s dedicated team of Coopers. Bottled at 50% abv, and free from chill filtration.

Expect floral aromas, with hints of blackcurrant and charred oak, leading to a plate full of sweet spice, apple, sandalwood and honey flavours. The finish is long and dry, with a warming spicy oak note.

Distilled using 100% malted barley in Loch Lomond’s bespoke all copper construction, Continuous “Coffey” still, Master Blender Michael Henry has carefully selected some of the older whiskies in Loch Lomond’s warehouse, and married them together with some more vibrant liquids to produce a expression with fantastic contrasting character. Matured in a combination of both first fill and refill American Oak casks, and bottled at 48.8% abv. Free from chill filtration.

Expect fruity and floral aromas of rose, violet, peach and blackcurrant, along with tart fruit flavours on the palate, with blackberry and green apple and hints of honey and golden barley. A long finish of vanilla fudge and warming cinnamon spice.
