Glenallachie 2014 Chinquapin & PX Cask The Sinteis Series Part 1 showcases the art of cask innovation, merging single malt matured in first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry puncheons with American Chinquapin oak from Missouri’s Ozark Mountains. Bottled at a robust 57.8% ABV, this cask strength release is presented with natural colour and without chill filtration, allowing the full depth of the whisky’s character to shine.

Deep walnut in colour, the whisky opens with aromas of liquorice, butterscotch, grilled honeycomb, and candied orchard fruits, enriched by cocoa and treacle tart. The palate delivers a rich symphony of ginger, candied lemon slices, fig jam, blackberries, molasses, and warming cinnamon spice, all wrapped in a backdrop of dark cocoa. This bold and complex expression marks a confident start to the Sinteis Series, celebrating the seamless melding of two distinct oak influences.

‘Sinteis’ means ‘synthesis’ in Scottish Gaelic, and a better word couldn’t have been chosen to title this release from GlenAllachie, the third release in the series.

Embodying their bold cask creativity, this dram marries a single malt with not one but two wood types to craft a truly distinctive expressions – virgin oak and Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 57.4% abv, this naturally-coloured and non chill filtered liquid is full of indulgent layers of dark chocolate and roasted coffee, interwoven with nutmeg and a gentle oak warmth.

Batch Three of GlenAllachie’s anticipated 21-year-old series has been matured in Spanish sherry oak casks expertly selected by Master Blender Billy Walker. Three Pedro Ximénez puncheons were married and bottled at 51.5% abv, limited to just 2,400 bottles globally, free from chill filtration and at natural colour.

The nose opens with notes of raisins, dark chocolate orange, espresso and stewed fruits. The palate is full of brandy soaked currants, ginger, heather honey and more rich cocoa. The close is warming, sweet and indulgent.

For Batch 5 of GlenAllachie 21 Year Old, Master Distiller Billy Walker has thoughtfully finessed every drop of vintage auburn liquid in superior Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks, expertly sourced from Spain. Bottled at a cask strength of 49.2% abv, free from chill filtration and at natural colour.

Brandied honeycomb, molasses tart and spiced blood orange on the nose, with bursts of cocoa, black winter truffle and caramelised brown sugar. The palate brings rich chocolate, warm baking spices and clementine zest, followed by molasses, orchard fruits and crystallised ginger, with black cherries and raisin butter on the close.

Presenting Batch 3 of the incredible GlenAllachie 30 Year Old. Bottled at a cask strength of 48.9% abv, only the finest vintage stocks were used under the supervision of Master Blender Billy Walker who ensured optimal interaction between distillery and wood. The spirit was matured within a combination of eight hand-selected PX, Oloroso and virgin oak casks over its long slumber, before being decanted into only 2,400 bottles. Free from chill filtration.

Expect aromas of roasted almonds, honey and orchard fruits, with hints of worn leather and butterscotch. On the palate we find lashings of grape must, hazelnut and honeycomb, followed by citrus fruits, toffee brittle and hints of ginger spice. Notes of cinnamon and mocha unfurl on the finish.

An outstanding new release from The GlenAllachie. This Speyside dram was matured for eight years in a combination of Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso puncheons, red wine barriques, and virgin oak casks. The expression was bottled at 46% abv and is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.

This expression perfectly balances sweetness with spice. Aromas of ginger, caramel, and heather honey meet the nose. The palate brings more caramel, cinnamon, and raisins before leading into a sweet and satisfying finish. A simply outstanding dram.

Batch Three of The GlenAllachie Virgin Oak Series are all first matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, with an additional maturation for approximately 18 months in a variety virgin oak casks: Scottish, Hungarian and Spanish oak. Each of these three woods react uniquely with the GlenAllachie spirit, adding texture, depth and variety.

This one is aged for eight years, finished in virgin oak casks crafted from Scottish Sessile oak, grown on the Atlantic west coast. Notoriously difficult to work with from growing, milling, and coopering, this wood imparts luxurious, zesty notes of blonde chocolate, orange and toffee.
