Here we have the second edition in the Legacy Series of single malts from the Isle of Skye newcomers, with production only beginning in 2017. The expression is bottled free from chill filtration, at natural colour and 46% abv, created from a small batch of no more than 30 casks. Powerfully peated and maritime, we look forward to more whisky from this team in the future.

Aromas of robust peat move towards a maritime character of fresh sea air, shortbread and lemon rind. The palate is briny and oily, with lots of smoky flavour alongside floral heather and fresh orchard fruits. The finish is big waves of peat, vanilla, and fresh apples.

This Westport 21 Year Old is a blended malt from That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Westport is a teaspooned malt, and a particularly well-aged blended malt at 21 years of age. This first batch of Westport is a release of 330 bottles and is a vatting of two sherry butts from October 1997. Some blended malt if we don’t say so ourselves.

Expect to be won over immediately by a beautifully complex nose. Throwing the first punches are stewed apple, plums, orange peel, chocolate, and a little hint of herbs. The palate continues this full-bodied nature, with hints of mango, passionfruit, with fresh and dried fruits. The finish is long, decadent, and gives candied hints of the sherried cask history. A crowd-pleaser.

A wonderful release from Widow Jane Distillery in Brooklyn! This is a delectable ten-year-old bourbon that masterfully balances its intricate flavour profile. Every bottle has been drawn from a ‘5 barrel batch’, meaning that this is truly a unique, small batch dram. The whiskey is bottled at 45.5% abv.

Expect aromas of baking spices, tobacco, and freshly baked bread. The palate brings sandalwood, butterscotch, sea salt, and Madagascan vanilla before leading into the pleasant and smooth finish full of Demerara sugar.

Distilled at Buffalo Trace, this Kentucky straight bourbon is an exceptionally smooth expression, owing to a mash bill that substitutes wheat for the more commonly used rye. Bottled at 45% abv, it is equally great on its own or in cocktails.

Sweet on the nose, with a notable caramel aspect. The palate is sweet too, with honey and butterscotch backed up by some woody spices, before a smooth and long lasting finish.
