$91.00 Availability: In StockThis latest Rare Cask Release is a Highland single malt whisky that was hand selected and bottled exclusively for the U.K. It spent its ten year long maturation in an Oloroso sherry puncheon, and has yielded 713 bottles in the release. Distilled on the 4th of June 2010, this arrives at a hearty strength of 57% abv. This expression is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.
The nose is full of a plethora of berry fruits, with a certain cocoa dryness accompanying ground coffee notes. The palate is a big hit of vanilla, followed by pineapple, coconut milk, and banana. The finish is long, lingering, with hints of creaminess.

On the nose, expect sweet coastal waves of ripe apricot, toasted vanilla and tropical flora, all carried on a warm ocean breeze. The palate brings flavours of candied pistachio, date and sweet fig which develop into waves of morello cherry and whipped cream with fresh coastal air on the close.

Located on the Banffshire Coast, one mile west of the fishing village of Portsoy, Glenglassaugh is a true coastal distillery, and looks out over the white sandy beach of Sandend Bay. The distillery is just outside the Speyside region in the North East of Scotland making it a Highland distillery. The Glenglassaugh 40 year old was matured in American Oak barrels and European Oak hogsheads, balanced with Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks. This syrupy and complex expression is non chill filtered and of natural colour. -

A 50 year old single malt, only 264 bottles have been released. The 40.1% abv bottling has been finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from AndalucÃa, Spain. Incredibly, the Glenglassaugh Distillery has been shut down and reopened, all during this expression’s 50 year long maturation.
Matured in coastal warehouses, this is a transcendent harmony of flavours. Deep layers of figs and blackberry arrive on the nose. Almond, refined oak, caramelised pear, and soft exotic cherries offer a seductive sweetness on the palate. The finish is exceptional, a balance between a deep sweetness, tropical notes, and a gentle ocean breeze. Flavour notes arrive like waves, rolling and intensifying with each sip. A showstopper.

Expect a nose of seductive honeyed oak with lychee and neroli, with a palate of star fruit and papaya, leading to a finish of soft sandalwood, passion fruit and cherries kissed by the sea.

This whisky was distilled and filled to cask 3301 on 15th February 1963, and has been maturing ever since. This is the oldest cask in Glenglassaugh’s inventory.Non chill filtered, of natural colour and bottled at natural cask strength on 14th of May 2014. One of only 191 bottles, bottled at 41.7% abv. Each bottle is hand-numbered, and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by our Master Distiller and part-owner Billy Walker. -

The palate is robust and peppery with green apples and barley, before salted caramel notes emerge. The finish is a vibrant combination of oak spice and gentle fruits.

Glenglassaugh Revival

This expression has been matured in a mixture of first and refill bourbon casks, this was finished for 6 months in first-fill oloroso sherry butts.
A sweet nose with chocolate, caramel, nuts and sherry. Some fresh berries and a little oak develop into a sweet and creamy taste, with more fruits and continued chocolate sweetness. A whisper of oak leads to a warming finish, sherry, caramel and spice are all present.
