Description
This Highland single grain Scotch whisky is believed to be the first ever release of a peated single grain Scotch. Crafted by R&B Distillers with 50% malted barley and 50% wheat, this expression has been bottled at 50% abv as part of the Tweeddale series. The Tweeddale is inspired by the notebook of Richard Day, a blender in the Scottish borders who produced the original Tweeddale whisky from 1895 to the 1940s.
The nose is fruity and grassy with a smoky, earthy note. The palate offers a balance of smoky and sweet, with barbecue, fruits, chocolate and caramel, all coated in an aromatic smoke. The finish is drying with a charred oak quality.
