This American whiskey is distilled in Bardstown, Kentucky, at the Barton 1792 Distillery using a bourbon mash bill that is high in rye content. Casks are regularly assessed for quality and those deemed to be ‘exceptional’ are set aside for bottling as 1792 Single Barrel to preserve the cask’s unqiue character. Bottled at 49.3% abv, this Kentucky straight bourbon is an elegant and smooth addition to the category.

Expect flavours of rich butterscotch, caramel, fruit and toffee.

‘Rye Rye’ is an inventive release from Swedish whisky house and industry disruptors, Agitator. Bringing together their American-style rye, ‘Blind Seal’, and their smooth Swedish Blend liquids, they’ve created something truly special.

The Rye component is matured in virgin American oak, while the Swedish Blend side of the mix has seen a combination of ex-bourbon, virgin oak, ex-sherry, and chestnut casks, resulting in a complex and playful expression.

On the nose, aromas of butterscotch, caramel, and marshmallows give way to hints of peanuts and coffee. The palate is medium-bodied, with fruity sweetness and warming spice. The finish is an indulgent trail of caramel swirls and milk chocolate.

On the nose, soft peat comes through first, joined by light straw, herbal aromas and wood-y notes. The peat carries through to a lingering palate, accompanied by the syrupy sweetness of dried apricots. The finish is warming and composed, introducing a gentle saltiness that reflects the ex-Islay cask influence and leaves a satisfying, lightly smoky impression.

A single malt Australian Whisky from That Boutique-y Whisky Company – this is a bottling from Bakery Hill Distillery in Victoria Australia. Bakery Hill is Australia’s oldest mainland whisky distillery, founded in 1999. A family-run affair, this is a low production operation, that focus on quality over quantity and favour boubon-barrel maturations.

This is Batch #1 of a 5-year-old single malt whisky, bottled at 50% abv.

The nose is refreshing with citrus, honey, and gentle floral notes. The palate has toasted oak, peach, and apple before leading into the smooth and pleasant finish.

 

From Holladay distillery in Missouri, USA, this wheated bourbon is distilled from a mashbill of 73% corn, 15% wheat and 12% malted barley, before being aged for six years and bottled at a cask strength of 60.05% abv (120.1 proof). The whiskey features components taken from various barrels matured at different locations in Holladay’s rickhouse.

On the nose, expect toffee, vanilla and sweet oak tannins, before a palate of caramel, orchard fruits and hints of baking spices.

This release from Berry Bros. & Rudd is the first independent bottling from Norway’s Myken Distillery. This wonderfully peaty dram was distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2021 at 61.4% abv.

On the nose, there are welcome aromas of apples, pears, and bonfire smoke. The palate is particularly coastal and smoky, with hints of wild garlic lingering in the back before leading into a long and peat-filled finish.

Created for exceptional smoothness and a clean finish, this bourbon is made with a sour mash of corn, rye and malted barley before maturing in American White Oak casks.

The nose is powerful and dry with honey, rye, dried fruits, vanilla and chocolate. The palate is full and rich with sharp apricot notes alongside butter, pepper, honey and oak. The finish is long with toffee apples developing to pecan and caramel.

This single pot still Irish whiskey is crafted at Midleton distillery using a combination of bourbon, sherry and Madeira casks. Matured for at least seven years, this expression is bottled free from chill filtration at a natural cask strength of 59.1% abv.

The nose is fruity with green banana, kiwi and pineapple. The palate brings hazelnut and spices with baked apple and toasted oak, before a long and fruity finish with a gentle spice lingering.
