Another outstanding release from Foursquare Distillery – introducing Kill Devil Barbados 15 Year Old. This single cask rum was distilled in 2006 and spent 15 years maturing before being bottled at a striking 62.1% abv. Just 266 bottles of this tantalising expression have been produced.

This blended Caribbean rum is a dark and rich blend of the finest Guyana and Jamaica rums, aged for added smoothness and depth in selected white oak casks. Bottled at a powerful 57% abv in a nod to the Royal Navy’s old ‘gunpowder strength’ qualification, it’s perfect in cocktails or served over ice.The nose is intense and tropical with blackened banana, pineapple, peaches and citrus zest. The palate brings more caramelised banana and pineapple, with chocolate and coffee bean flavours emerging.

Foursquare Distillery with another top offering, this 14-year-old rum being titled Kill Devil. A single cask rum steeped in history; this is a cask strength dram from Barbados with a small yield. Distilled in April 2007, this is eye-wateringly 63.1% abv. Foursquare are quickly growing a reputation for its rums, and this single cask is limited to just 267 bottles. It is a blend of pot and column distilled rum. Expect a herbaceous, subtly medicinal quality on the nose, alongside a faint hint of pineapple. The palate is rich in swathes of brown sugar, toffee, caramel, and a peppery heat. The finish continues this pleasant warmth, with turmeric, oaky tannins, and lemon zest.

This collaboration between Kill Devil and the West Indies Rum Distillery is a tasty, well-aged rum treat. A single cask expression that arrives at a cask strength 51.3% abv, this is a yield of just 229 bottles. This was aged for 21 years, a sensational age for a rum. Laid to rest in July 2000.

On the nose hints of dark, rich fruit and toasted oak are present. Marzipan, vanilla, cinnamon and more wood tannins arrive on the palate, and the finish is exceptionally rich, sweet, spicy, and long lasting.
